"So when you're alone at night, don't let Tigerstar get you! He likes to eat kits like you!" said an old cat as she finished her story. "RAR!" she added leaning forward suddenly so that the three little kits jumped back.
"Hee hee! Stop it Lilyheart you're scaring the kits!" Laughed a young cream colored she-cat.
"It's not my fault they wanted to hear about Tigerstar." turning back to the kits she added "Tigerstar's dead, he won't come back to hurt you little ones. He didn't eat kits. I think.."
The young she-cat still looked worried as if Tigerstar was going to pop out of one of the shadows and eat her kits.
"You can't honestly believe these nursery tales, dear" laughed Lilyheart.
Dismissing her kits she responded, "It's not that I believe them, it's that I have lived in fear for so long that it is hard to turn back from those days of fear and oppression from Tigerclan."
"I know how you feel, Creamfur," sighed Lilyheart. "We all do."
"At least we have a new home where Tigerstar can't find us." Creamfur said, exiting the den.
Outside, where the fresh air brushed through her cream colored fur, Creamfur sighed. She looked over to the Rock in the middle of camp where the leader made all the announcements. Today the rock was occupied by the medicine cat and deputy, Spiriteyes.
"Cats of Riverclan I stand here today to thank and praise Starclan for their blessing brought upon us. Before we eat let us bow down to Starclan and thank our honorable warrior cat ancestors for letting this prey be caught and granting us with this beautiful new home by this lake." Spiriteyes yowled to the cats gathered below her. Then she ordered the other cats to shout praises to StarClan at the sky.
Creamfur joined in at this last part, praying that Starclan would let her kits be safe. The cats padded up to the fresh kill pile, each grabbing a piece of fresh kill and muttering their thanks to Starclan under their breath as they grabbed their small dead animal.
Creamfur ate her fill by the tall oak tree where her friends since kithood were eating.
"I know that Tigerstar is dead but what about rogues that think they can control us or take away our well earned freedom. Oh, I just hope StarClan can keep us safe." sighed Creamfur's best friend from kithood, Owlheart. "Why can't they just pledge to protect our kits" Owlheart continued looking at Creamfur "You know that the forest, especially when untamed and unpopulated, can be a very dangerous place for a kit. Don't forget that just a few short seasons ago, in ThunderClan, a kit was taken away by a hawk."
"Owlheart, that kit was deaf. Rosekit, Frostkit, and Snakekit are all perfect. I just wish their father was here to look after them"
"He is watching them, from StarClan"

Later that day as the sun was setting and the moon and stars were revealed, Creamfur sat with Rosekit, Frostkit, and Snakekit looking up at the star- studded night sky.
"Is that big glowing white star up there dad?" asked Rosekit.
"That's the moon. Redfur told me" Frostkit replied, much to his sister's annoyance.
"I didn't ask you, dummy!" huffed Rosekit.
"Foxkit was right, Rosie, that giant star- like thing is the moon, but, like you, as a kit, I was also confused by that. So what I am trying to say is you're not alone, love" said Creamfur. "You'll never be alone, even when no one is at your side you can always look up into the stars and see dad and someday I will join your father's side up there, and you will too. We all will. But what counts is that we are all together right now."
"I wish Daddy were here."
"Me too, Rosekit, me too."

"Ha. They can't honestly believe that load of sh-" A voice sounded from a clearing just outside of Riverclan territory. A golden she-cat was perched upon a rock speaking to a group of cats.
"Ut up!!" hissed another voice from the crowd.
"And," the golden cat paused for dramatic effect. "They were talking about ridding the forest of all the rouges. Especially those who have not been put here specifically by this 'StarClan' thing."
Voices from the crowd rose up in a furor.
"But no one was ever put here by some sort of stupid godly cats from the stars!"
"The stars are just pinpricks of light in the endless night sky, far off suns shining brightly into our galaxy! Not godly cats that offer a life after death!"
"Excuse me!" the cat perched on the rock yowled for the crowd's attention. "I have another announcement to make! Raven and Star have had kits! Two beautiful kits, a tom kit and a she-kit. Unfortunately, the tom kit was stillborn. Neither have been named, as they were only born a few minutes ago."

"She's all alone now. Her brother never got the chance to taste fresh air." sighed Star sadly. "What should we name our only living kit?"
A wolf howled in the distance, breaking the silence with its sad song of one deep, lingering note that never seemed to end.
"What about Wolf?"
"Wolf is a perfect name" Raven purred.
Wolf mewed happily.
