Kelsey woke up to the sound of her brother's music playing from across the hall. As soon as she opened her eyes they were met with her Ratt poster hanging on her wall. Although she was a girly-girl, she did like her rock music.
She ascended from her bed into her bathroom for her morning routine. Thank gosh she doesn't have to share a bathroom with her brother anymore. When they moved here her sophomore year, they were both granted their own bathrooms. When they used to share, useless arguments took place every morning. Now she had it all to herself which was nice.
She left the bathroom to get dressed. Her usual style consisted of a nice designer sweater or button up top, expensive jeans, and either a pair of white vans, converse, or booties. She decided to leave her hair down today but she curled it to make it look nice. She always liked a natural look for makeup so she only put on some light blush, she had nice enough skin to skip foundation, mascara, and her favorite nude-pink gloss. She sprayed today's choice of perfume and exited her room.
Once in the kitchen she was greeted by the delicious aroma of waffles. Her mom, by the name of Laura, was standing next to the waffle maker.
"Good morning sweetie. How'd you sleep?"
"Good. Where's dad?" Her father was usually home in the mornings and didn't leave for work until 9:00. He was the head doctor at Hawkins Hospital.
"Oh, John got asked to work on a special project in Hawkins Lab. He leaves at 4am and won't be home until around 9pm."
"Lab? What work could he be doing in the lab."
"Same questions I have sweetie, but apparently it's confidential information."
Kelsey raised her eyebrows in confusion but didn't let the situation worry her. Her dad was probably just training people there.
Her mom smiled and continued cooking. Kelsey went to the coffee machine and made her usual. She iced it and poured some caramel creamer into it and put it in a to-go cup for school. She ate her waffles and checked the time, noticing it was time to leave to pick up Natalie.
"Bye mom gotta go love you." She stood up and kissed her mom on the cheek.
"Corey let's go!" She yelled. She opened the garage and got in her car and waited for Corey who came a minute later.
With that, they took of to Nat's.

Kelsey made it to first period this morning a few minutes before the bell rang so she got a head start on the day's assignment. This always pleased Mr. Johnson, seeing that she was one of the very few students who took his class seriously.
The students began piling in right before the bell rang. As if on queue, Billy walked in right as the bell ended.
"You're late Mr. Hargrove." Mr. Johnson said annoyed.
