On with the story!
“I hate this!” I said stomping my way to the fridge, but guess what?
There was nothing there, great.
Well, right now I’m sick, very sick. My head hurts, the place looks like it’s spinning, and my nose is like an open faucet, yuck.
I texted Jena and tried my best to sound really pitiful and it worked just as I expected it would! Jena said she’ll be here in a few minutes, she said she’s just going to go get some stuff which is of course for her poor, beloved, best friend which is me!
I dragged my body back to my bed, and stared at the door. Jena has a duplicate of my keys; I don’t need to wait for her. I put the covers on and tried to sleep.
After a few minutes there was a knock on the door. Of course I didn’t get up, if it was not Jena, he or she is not important. I shut my eyes again, but whoever that was, knocked again.
“I’m sick! Who is it!?” I cannot get up and I will not get up.
I waited for a response or at least another knock, but nothing happened. I closed my eyes again.
I woke up with a bag of M&M’s and a lot of Twix, Jena was here for sure.
My center table was full of all sorts of medicine and a glass of water. My counter was full of fruits, and snacks. Finally, I found Jena, she was cooking something, this is not good, but I’m hungry, I’ll take in anything.
I was just on my bed, feeling my head, moving from left to right. If I get up, would I feel dizzy again? That was the question I kept asking myself.
“You see,” Jena suddenly appeared beside me, “this is what you get for not listening to me.” She said with the sweetest smile she could pull.
“I didn’t get sick because of that!” I suddenly jerked out of bed. I guess I’m not dizzy anymore.
“Woah! Woah!” Jena was pushing me back to bed. “Alright! Just, just don’t do that.” Sometimes she acts like my mom, funny but sweet.
I climb back to bed, and started to eat. It actually tasted like real food this time.
I was dramatically telling Jena how my life was for the past few days, when a big, loud knock cut me off.
“I’ll get it.” Jena said getting off my bed. As she was getting near the door, I was really hoping it was Red, he hasn’t left me a letter in two weeks. I really enjoy his letters.
But to my dismay it was Alice and Josh.
“Hey Briar,” Josh came near, he was usually like this. He was really annoying when I’m fine, but you can clearly see that he’s sort of my guy best friend when I’m hurt, physically or emotionally.
“How are you?” Alice said. She’s Josh’s older sister, actually she’s just a year older than him but acts like she’s ten years older. She’s really prim and proper while Josh is the complete opposite.
“Feeling better, thank you.” Even I can’t act the way I act when she’s around.
“Good,” she smiled, even her smile is elegant, “I just dropped Josh off, I need to get going. Sorry.”
