There are some good things on the horizon- Carve The Mark

Aaron rarely felt this nervous. Today he was making a new start. After five years of moping around he was ready to get back on his feet. "Mr. Aaron Williams", called the receptionist. Aaron got up and went towards the receptionist.

"The director is ready for you. Cecilia will take you to the boardroom. She is standing near the help desk", said the lady behind the desk.

Aaron nodded and made his way to the help desk. Though there were several women there, he recognised Cecilia because he could feel the confidence she radiated.

Aaron tapped on her shoulder and said, "You must be Cecilia, right?".
"Uh huh that's right". She confirms.
"I am Aaron, I have a meeting with the director".

The lady Cecilia scanned him like a robot from those sci-fi movies and gave an appreciative nod.According to Aaron he was just a guy with good height and looks for a boy next door. But the amount of attention he got from the opposite sex suggested otherwise. He was around 6'1. His hair was light brown which shined in sunlight. The jawline was drool worthy , but that's not what drew women to him. It was his eyes, a brilliant shade of green and hazel.

This type of attention would have the teenage Aaron on cloud nine but all that Aaron was long gone. He only wanted one woman's attention .

Aaron was broken out of his stupor by Cecilia as they entered the elevator.

"Where did you work before joining NSA (National Security Agency)?" asked Cecilia

"None of your business" he replied curtly. Aaron hated nosy people, he did not like talking about himself. Lets call it a Side Effect 101 of associating with Aurora.

'Wow! we have another asshole joining today! This company couldn't get any better." snorted Cecilia.

The elevator opened to the floor where Aaron assumed would be the Director's office. He had just stepped out of the elevator when he was tackled in a hug by someone.

"Aaron my boi!!!" said Caleb, Aaron's best friend.

"Get the fuck away from me you moron!" said Aaron as he pushed Caleb off him. Cecilia looked at the exchange with a smirk.

"Colorful language as ever I see" said Caleb."Hello Cecilia. How are we today?" asked Caleb.

"I am fine , now if we are done here we need to get back to the Director" answered Cecilia. Aaron shook his head and followed the woman towards the end of the hallway.

"I'll be leaving you here Mr.Gray is inside. Knock before entering." instructed Cecilia and walked away.

Aaron knocked at the door and waited before he heard a muffled voice calling him in. As he entered he saw a man sitting behind the desk with his head buried inside what Aaron assumed would be a newspaper.

"You may take a seat Mr.Williams. We have to go over a few things before you start today" said Mr.Gray from behind the newspaper. "I assume Caleb went over all the details of your job?" he asked while folding the newspaper and keeping it on the desk.

Mr. Gray was a man that screamed power and authority, but then again he was the director of the National Security Agency of United States of America. He didn't look too bad for his age. His head was covered with black hair along with hints of grey here and there.

His voice had traces of what Aurora would call a displaced British accent.

"Cecilia will show you your cabin, with you being the security head we'll meet frequenty Mr.Williams. Any problem you face you can contact either Cecilia or Caleb. Have a nice day". explained Harold (Mr.Gray).

It did not take a genius to figure out that the tone of dismissal in his superior's monologue. " Thank you sir" , said Aaron and left the cabin closing the door behind him.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN..
