Aurora was a train wreck  as she stepped out of the airport with her luggage. She was going through a plethora of emotions. She had left the country five years ago. She had left as a physicist and computer junkie and had returned with a weapon development major. She had comeback for her best friend's wedding and plans to finally comeback to the place she once called home.

When she left nobody had expected that. after everything that had happened nobody realised just how damaged it had left her. It wasn't their fault that she was good at putting up a façade. The one person she had hurt the most was Aaron. She knew that getting him back was an impossible dream. But there was still a small part of her that hoped for his forgiveness and maybe just maybe they'll be back together.

She sighed and decided to call her best friend/cousin, Isabelle.

"You were supposed to be here 20 minutes ago, where are you?", Aurora asked as soon as Isabelle answered her call.

"I am stuck in traffic an I am almost there so stop whining and drop he call", Isabelle replied.

Aurora felt guilty for blowing up on Belle like that but she was a complete mess. After about five minutes a car stopped in front of her. She immediately recognised the blue mini cooper of her best friend. As soon as Belle got out of the car Aurora wrapped her in a bone crushing bear hug.

As she hugged her, Aurora finally relaxed after a long flight and felt some of the tension left her body. She was meeting her best friend after five freaking years. She didn't realise she had been crying until Belle wiped her tears.

"Don't think eve for a second these tears can save you from the grilling once we reach home you bitch! Who leaves their family without informing and without a contact for 5 freaking years?", shouted Belle while helping Aurora with the luggage.

" Me that's who", Aurora laughed as they buckled up and made their way to Belle's apartment.

"You and your sass", said Belle and shook her head. "But in all seriousness where the  hell were you these past five years? You literally went MIA. You finally messaged me 3 weeks ago that to from an unknown number. 5 years ago all I got was an  "I am sorry" message. You delete your social media, changed your number. Hell we didn't even know you were alive or not", she continued.

Aurora knew she had to answer all these questions sooner or later so she said, "I'll tell you everything you want to know when I have the courage to accept my mistakes. I almost backed out from coming back. I had done a lot of wrong things in my life and to come in terms with them is very difficult. I know saying sorry is not enough and all of you deserve an explanation but give me some time".

"I understand that and you can have all the time you want as long as we get our answers. And for surprising everyone on my wedding well I agree it would be priceless to see everyone's face", laughed Isabelle.

No matter how long you are away or how long you don't talk to your family they'll always welcome you with open arms. This was Aurora's last thought as she fell into a dreamless sleep.
