After form you headed up to your first lesson of the day, computing. You slowly felt yourself dying inside as the thought of 2 hours of listening to the teacher talk about random crap and dropping a line or 2 of code. You hauled your body up to the computer room, with the outline filled with computers, you wondered if the computers were older than you, it certainly looked that way and you weren't surprised because the entire school was outdated, with maps of the world with country's that you were certain that didn't exist or something. The room itself was littered with posters about internet safety. You took your seat at the end of the row, with only a computer on your right, and that one was free because the last person who sat there left town under mysterious circumstances, he wasn't one of those quiet people, it was the exact opposite in fact, he was involved in pretty much everything, you gave it some thought as the old computer turned on and the seats of the classroom slowly started filling up. You were a bit startled when the seat next to you moved and your bag fell on the floor, you turned around to give the person a death stare when you realized that it was the guy that Alex was talking to in the morning.

"Uhh... Ben right? You looked at him a bit more easily.
"Yep, sorry for your bag, it's just that I know your Alex's friend and I wanted to sit with someone I..." his face scrunched up as he looked for the word. "Someone I know, I guess" The look on his face was disarming.
"Fine, but if you copy me I swear to God!" More as a joke then an genuine threat.

The 2 hours passed unnaturally quickly with Ben at your side, you found out that he didn't need to copy you because he was one tech savvy son of a gun. After the lesson you waved him a goodbye as you made your way down the familiar stairs past the same old classrooms and stepped into the cafeteria. The area smelled of today's menu, lasagna, it was mostly white except from the green stools and chairs. This was the area where you saw the social divisions of the school, each group sticking to their turf of the cafeteria, you could sit with them, and hold a conversation even but for some reason you found yourself slowly drifting to the new three sitting in what would be 'No Mans Land' where anybody could sit and they were sitting together. Before you knew it Toby noticed you and gestured for you to sit down next to him. You did as he asked and saw Ben and that emo chick next to him. After saying hi to Ben and Toby you said to the girl hi while rolling your hands indicating that she tells you her name.
"Oh sorry, it's Jane" with a smile that knocked you off guard not just because her smile was beautiful, but because you labeled her as a emo.
"That's a nice name, what would a nice lady like you be doing here?"
She laughed at my statement, while you looked at her, a bit baffled.
"Believe me (Y/N), im anything but nice" she said, winking at you after she finished.
As if she sent some signal, Toby instantly got up and told everyone he was going to get his food, which oh had been wondering why he hadn't had any for some time. You made small talk with Ben and Jane while observing Toby's movements, he moved to the serving tables rather swiftly, as if he was deliberately avoiding the attention of everyone. You decided to divert your attention back to your two peers. After about 5 mins of the most random discussions you heard a metallic bang and your head, along with Ben's and Jane's, you saw Toby with a look of horror in his eyes and when you saw what he did your eyes filled with dread too. You assumed that he must of had a twitch and his tray full of food landed on one of the jocks, and this one was a bloody brute. He slowly stood up from his seat and menacingly turned around and raised his fist and before he could strike him a voice broke the silence.
"Hey! Lay off him it wasn't his fault" you grabbed your mouth in horror when you realized that the voice was your own.
"What did you say" his deep voice enough to startle you.
"I said...." gathering all of your courage. "Fuck off and get off Toby's act"
Without even a moment to try and counter the attack, the brute pushed you and combined with the food on the floor, made you slip and fall. He turned his attention to Toby as he threw a left jab at Toby but he somehow managed to dodge it. Something snapped inside you though as you stood up you also picked the aluminum food tray that caused this and walked towards him, with him being too busy trying to take Toby out. You had the advantage because he had his back on you so you could have a initial strike and you knew just what to do, you kicked him in the back of the knee, causing him to drop on one knee as you swung and smashed the tray into the side of his head. You felt that the next that the next moments happened in slow motion, with the jock slowly falling straight into a bunch of mashed potatoes. You were breathing heavily, finally you felt someone touch your back and as if you snapped out of a coma everything started coming back to normality. You looked at the brute, he was out cold, you looked behind you to see Jane in your face with Ben behind her, both seemingly untroubled by what happened. She took your hand and you both left the cafeteria, gathering Toby as you left.
