Chapter 19: How the Guys Feel PT 1

Rocky's POV:

I walk with Hannah to a nearby café and we order food and coffee. "So," I say to her as soon as we sit down, "how are you feeling about this whole mess?"

"It's really scaring me, Rocky. Zach really scares me. I have flashbacks of when he and I were dating all the time now, and I just want to cry. How could I have been so stupid, and not told anyone?" She puts her hands to her face and leans her elbows onto the table.

I wish I was sitting next to her so I could comfort her, but I'm sitting across. I reach across to her face, and gently remove her hands to find her eyes damp. "Shh, baby. It's okay, you're not stupid. A lot of people would have done exactly the same thing in that situation, just because it ended like this, doesn't mean it's your fault." I wipe her tears away with my thumbs and she smiles softly.

"But I let it happen. He was abusing me, using me, and I didn't stop him." She replies.

At this point, my heart was breaking. I didn't know what else to say to her. So instead, I get up and sit down next to her in the booth. I hold her in my arms and run my hands over her soft brown hair. She sighs and I squeeze her tighter before letting go. "Let's just finish our food and then go back to my place okay? I think we both could use some sleep."

She nods, and I wipe her tears again.

Once we get back to the house, we find it empty, and we wander back to Riker's and my room to sleep. We fall asleep like those happy couples in movies, curled up together without worry. But as I wrapped my arms around this broken girl, I realized my life will never be like one of those movies, and to be honest, I didn't care.

As long as I had Hannah.

Riker's POV:

Ow.

Okay, that hurt.

It doesn't hurt now. They have me on painkillers and it's all numb. Hannah is amazing, she apparently wrapped my shoulder with a shirt and saved me from losing a ton of blood.

And if I'm calling Hannah amazing, then Mikayla, my Mikayla, is a goddess. I guess it takes a life-threatening experience for me to get the guts to ask her out. Yea, I know she's 16, but she is the most adorable, sweet-hearted, and loving girl I know! I'm so happy that she's mine! Once I'm out of the hospital, I'm going to take her to a nice dinner. I really want to get to know her better. It's so cute how shy she is!

I'm getting so tired. It must be the meds making me drowsy. I close my eyes and let my mind wander to an image of my girlfriend until I'm finally pulled into sleep.

Ellington's POV: (😱)

As I drive Rydel to lunch, I can't help but feel jealous...she's the most amazing girl I've ever met, and I've had a crush on her for as long as I can remember. But now she's into this hospital guy, Matt, or whatever his name is.

I call her name, but she doesn't answer. She's staring straight ahead, unblinking. I can't help but believe she's daydreaming about him. My suspicions are confirmed when she finally answers and tells me that she is thinking about him. Ugh, why haven't I said anything all these years!!! And now I'm paying the price...she's fallen for another guy...a guy with cancer. Who could possibly die, and break her heart.

She zoned out again...she's whispering "his eyes". I'm going to puke. Suddenly I see something out of the corner of my eye, and I swerve to avoid hitting it...

SORRY!!! For both the cliffhanger and the short chapter, but at least it's something. I feel so guilty for not having updated this summer:( and school starts next week😭. Please message me with ideas for this story cuz I'm running out and it's making it wayyy harder than it should be to write a chapter.
