I woke up suddenly and everything was blurry. I saw my mom feeding my brothers and my sisters worms and then she flew away. Probably to go find dad. I carefully stood up and looking at my surroundings. I went to the edge of the nest to see if mom was down there. My claw slipped and I suddenly felt wind blow through my feathers. Then everything went black.

Later I slowly woke up and looked up at my nest. I felt the grass surrounding me like a crowd surrounding a car wreck. I stood up and looked around. I saw the bright colors of summer right in front of my eyes. It was beautiful. Like a dream you never want to awaken from.

Suddenly, I heard like a loud growling sound. There were creatures with two legs getting into the weird looking object that was growling. It was big. There was joyful laughter and happy smiles. I got curious and quickly flapped onto the top of it. There was a strap on top so I strap myself on top of the big growling metal creature and it began to move backwards. It started going down the street.

I looked to my left and saw two if those same two legged creatures holding hands. Mother said that these creatures were humans and those were a couple. She also told me about the kiss. When she told me, I was a little jealous, because I know I'm never going to be able to experience that. They looked at each other and smiled and then began kissing as if they wanted the moment to last forever. I turned my head the other direction not only because I wanted to see more, but because my chest began hurting once I saw them kissing.

When I turned my head there was a little boy who was sitting on the ground next to his object which mother said bike with its wheel still spinning. He was moaning in pain and crying. The lady who I believed was his mother quickly walked over to him and kissed the boo boo that I saw on his knee and then he smiled at her. If I had a boo boo, would someone kiss it to make it feel better?

As I watched the humans interact with others I suddenly realized that the metal creature stopped at a place called the airport. I got glided off of the creature and landed in the lady's bag. The human family walked inside of the airport and waited by a moving staircase. There was one side going up and the other side was going down.

Suddenly I saw a beautiful young girl coming down the moving stairs with her gorgeous brunette hair flowing behind her. She looked at the teen boy who was with the human family with her beautiful blue eyes and they embraced each other. My eyes glistened as I watched her cry with tears of joy. I heard the girl say "Finally I've met you my love". My love? The words felt soft and loving. But at the same time they struck a pain inside me. Where's my love?

The boy and the girl held hands as the human family walked back to the metal creature. I slyly flapped back on to the top of it and strapped myself in. As they began to drive the strap came unloose and I fell off the top of the car. I felt too weak to move so I lay there. Listening to planes taking off. Imagining my momma kissing my boo boo. Imagining the feeling of belonging somewhere. Everything went black again.

I later began to feel like I was being lifted up and something began caressing my head gently. I opened my eyes and saw a little boy. He looked at me as if he had hope. But there looked like there was no hope left in him. He looked like he had been doing everything he could to keep holding back his tears. I tried to ask "why are you sad little boy?". But all that came out was a chirp. The boy smiled at me but I didn't smile. I couldn't. I wanted to help him but I couldn't.

The boy held me with care and ran over to another metal creature. He got in the back and strapped himself in and continued to gently pet my head. I felt happy but also alone. I gotta get home to momma. But then I thought about it a little more... do I really have a home?

The metal creautre stopped at a little White House that had a garden surrounding it with beautiful flowers inside. The boy got out of the creature and ran inside of the house with me still in the palm of his hands. He ran up a flight of stairs and opened the door to a room and slammed it shut. He put me in a lovely bird cage, leaving the cage door open, and then looked at me for a few seconds. His eyes then began to water and drops of water fell from his eyes. The kind boy was crying. I wanted to help him. I wanted to embrace him like that boy did to the girl. But I couldn't. I couldn't.

He sat on his bed and cried himself to sleep. Why was he sleeping? It was still day time. A couple hours later I began hearing yelling and opened my eyes and saw the boy crying on his bed again. I hopped out of the cage and walked out of the boys room and looked down the stairs. Two adults were yelling. I realized that they were the boys parents. But then why are they fighting? Are they unhappy like he is? All of a sudden I heard the father say "there's nothing you can do to bring him back". Bring who back? I flew onto a table that was against the hallway with pictures on it. I saw the mother and the father embracing the little boy along with a teenage boy. I looked at it confused. Who was the teenage boy? I hadn't seen him around the house or heard him.

I turned my head and saw that the father was embracing the mother as they both cried. The little boy then walked out of his room and walked down the stairs to them and then began crying. They mother picked up the little boy and continued crying as she hugged him with the father embracing her. Why are they so sad?

A couple hours later I woke up in the boys hands and I looked around and then I saw the nest. I began to chirp happily but then looked at the boy. He was sad a while ago. Now he's smiling. He's happy. I looked up at the nest and flew back up there. As I flew up to the nest I began having flashbacks of what I've experienced today. First I met a happy and joyful family, and then I met a family who embraced each other as they weeped. Both families were wonderful. But now it's time for me to find my home. My family. The place where I belong.
