Kimiko
"Hey get up. I will hit you if you don't wake up."
"Don't talk that way to the child, Shika. She is only a baby. They need to sleep to have lots of energy." I opened my eyes to see the blonde hair woman with mixed skin as well as a black haired man with yellow eyes staring at me with the same skin color as the woman. Instantly, I raised my hand to the man. He seems nicer than the woman by the sound of it. I wanted to stay by this man at all cost.
"Well hello little one. Welcome to your new home. I know that it isn't much but I hope that you soon grow to love it." The man spoke in a tone that made me smile. He took me from the woman's hands and blew raspberries on my cheeks. Needless to say, I laughed as he did so making the woman angry.
"Introduce yourself to her. She does not know who you are, hun." He sat me down on the floor making an obscure hand sign that looked like a star and pumped his arm in the air, kinda like how a hero pose. "My name is Regret Hyguma and I will do my best to keep you safe at all times." I fell over on my side but I laughed. He is the best person I had ever met.
As the woman stood up, Kimiko began to vibrate with her steps. Instead of making me laugh, the woman wanted me to watch her every move with attention. "My name is Shika Hyguma and I shall teach and watch over you when he isn't paying attention to you." There was a slight hint of anger when she said you at the end of her sentence. Well it seemed like it was important until her stomach began rumbling.
To the older Kimiko as she began watching the younger version of her, it was scary. Staring at the man with intense eyes, she almost took the book and close it. Mostly at that part of her life.
As time went on for the young Kimiko, she spent a lot of time outside with Regret. She grew in love with nature and naturally she used to call it home due to him. She started calling him father or daddy and Shika meanie. She was an odd one as her so-called mother told every single one of her friends or guests. I did not say to anyone about her hitting me as much as she liked with a switch whenever I "disobeyed", in the case of taking him away from her love. I watched her glare at me whenever I was around Daddy. I just took the because I knew that there was no way out or because I just needed to make some distances to see how people truly are.
At the time, when she was five, she started to like masks by how they looked and how they covered her tiny face. There was a room in the house that had masks in it. Regret told her one day that he collected them and she told him that she wanted to do the same. He looked around and sighed knowing well she was serious.
"I was a warrior at the time when I collected them. I fought bravely for them." He says and that instantly made her dark eyes sparkle shimmering specks of gold. "I wanna learn how to fight but in my way and-and I will not use it for bad way. Please daddy please?" I begged and gave him my puppy dog eyes.
He shook his head. "I don't want you to be hurt. It took a long time for me to be a warrior. Just because that way uses weapons does not mean everything is violent. We fight without knowing why they did such a thing. We fight because they told us to fight. Everyone we meet is like that." He replies but I tugged on his shirt. I got interested in fighting but for a so-called right cause and that was to protect him and his masks.
I had a favorite mask in particular. It was a mask was a fox's face with a small golden heart in the center of its forehead and above it's eyes. The outline of the eyes were red as the mask itself is midnight black. The inside of the ears as were red. I wore it a lot so I ran up to Daddy with the mask on. "Can I have this one?" He grinned and patted my hair. "If you truly think that is the way of the warrior is the way to go, then maybe."
I was known for being weak. I was taught inside for protection as the Meanie calls it. For the longest, I wanted to know how it feels to be outside once again as my recess began to get shorter and the learning got longer. I began training to defend and to parry attacks as well as use weapons such as chakrams or cross-pikes. I learned with music in my ears and swing with each beat or to certain beats I caught on to.
