The New Me

This year, I want to be young, wild and free.

I want to stay strong and believe,

That everything will be alright,

That my life will be flying smoothly like a beautiful kite.

I want to be someone new,

Just like a butterfly when it comes out of its cocoons.

I want to wash away my sins,

I want to stop the transgressing whispers from my imaginary friends, the Jinns.

I will survive,

I will rule the hive.

I will be the one to pass the tide,

I will make my life one hell of a roller coaster ride.

This year will be all about me,

Just you wait and see,

How I will turn into a Queen bee,

Living my life in utter happiness and glee.

I will hide the scars I made,

I believe that bad memories will soon fade.

The new me will be strong,

I'm sure you'll be proud.

The new me will be tough,

Around the edges a little rough,

But that is enough,

To show the world that I can change,

I will no longer be a freak, weird or strange.

I will beautify myself like Cleopatra,

With just the magical words of Abracadabra.

You won't be able to recognize me,

Becahse this year, I'll be the princess and you are the pea.

I'm adamant on turning myself into someone else,

My insides and my heart has already melt.

I will sculpt myself,

I will be a book on every shelf.

This year is all about me,

I will unlock the doors with all my remaining keys.

I'm not afraid to face the dangers,

I won't be locked up anymore in the deadly chambers.

I won't be a wannabe,

Or a nobody,

I will be someone whom people come to sight-see.

This year is all about me,

Just you wait and see,

I'll shine like a Marquise.
