no. 11 - new year, new fights
✿✿✿
"God, Mackenzie, you're in the same position that you were in yesterday, wearing the same clothes and the smell hasn't gotten any better so this leads me to believe that you haven't moved," Annie entered into her best friends room and immediately wished she hadn't.
"I have and I'm fine. I'm just warm in this and if I change I'll get cold," Mackenzie whined back at Annie. After her 'date' with Johnny, she had climbed into her bed and had hardly left it.
"That's a pathetic excuse, you're still moping about Johnny who is the walking definition of a fuckboy and you should drop him."
"I'm so stupid, how could I not have seen it coming that he hadn't left Nadia," Mackenzie whined into her pillow.
"Because that's what asshole's do and I'm sick of you upset. Where did my fun Mack Z go?"
"She died along with the rest of my eleven-year-old nicknames."
"Kenz, come on, it's new years eve and I can't go to Lauren's party without you. We always celebrate new years together," Annie sat on Mackenzie bed and gave her a pleading look. "Please, can you at least take a night out of your depression session to go?"
"I'll have to check my schedule," Mackenzie put her duvet cover back over her head that was swiftly pulled back again.
"It's cleared and you're coming. I can't do beer pong without my partner."
"Fine, I'll come. You've managed to convince me just because it's new years," Mackenzie finally let into Annie's pleads and for once she smiled.
"Good, now go have a shower, it's much needed," Annie said and pointed to the door.
The rest of that day was spent with the two watching movies, getting ready for the party, giggles and traveling as part of an uberpool but they managed to arrive in one piece.
Mackenzie checked her makeup on her phone's camera to see if it was still all okay before she went in. Her sparkling eyeshadow matched perfectly with her red dress and she had to thank Annie for getting her out of bed, she felt much better.
They made their way up to Lauren's house, neither of them had been before and both got a shock from how big it was. Suddenly Mackenzie looked at her short dress and looked back at Annie, "I feel a bit underdressed now or a bit slutty."
"We're fine Mackenzie just pull it down a bit," Annie nudged her as she knocked on the door seeing as it was closed.
"I can't Ans this is as long as it will go," Mackenzie whisper shouted as the door swung open to reveal a different Lauren then expected.
"Hi Annie," Lauren smiled, she was already slightly tipsy. "Oh, and Kenz, Come on in."
They entered the party but before Annie was let loose on the drinks and the Orlando's living room that was acting as a dancefloor, Mackenzie pulled her over to the side.
"You didn't tell me this was Lauren Orlando's party," Mackenzie practically screamed at her best friend, she would never have never left her bed if she had told her and was worried in case there was a chance of her brother being there.
"What other Lauren was it going to be?" Annie matched Mackenzie's tone of voice and started going through to the kitchen area to get a drink.
"I thought you meant fun Lauren from my physics class," Kenzie moaned and joined Annie in pouring out whatever drink was in a bowl into one of those cliche red cups.
