Time

Days of driving makes me hungry, dirty, and tired. Sure I'm a demon, but I don't have the powers to stay clean and energized.

Pulling over to a rest stop I buy cigarettes and food. Now that I have a hunger for sex I smoke to keep that feeling tamed. Going to the bathroom I stick my head in the sink and wash my hair with the shampoo I bought earlier. Looking at myself in the mirror I feel shock come over me. I look more beautiful than ever! My hair is sleek and shinier. My eyes used to be deep blue and now they are like ice. I also used to have little freckles on my cheeks, but now all blemishes are gone. Being a demon has it's perks.

Taking my time in the store I finally mosey out and see a man leaning against my car. When I come closer I can see his features a lot clearer. He is older with wrinkles all around his eyes and mouth. He wears a leather trench coat and has a cane with a gold crow as the handle. He seems normal, but i know that's not the case.

" Can I ask why you're leaning against my car?"

" Waiting for you."

" Why's that?"

" My child you ask a lot of questions."

" Very curious."

" Well if you must know..."

" I must."

" I am the time keeper."

" The what?" This guy is joking.

" No I'm not. I have come to deliver a message to you."

" Holy crap dude. How did you do that?"

" I'm a time keeper. I have many tricks."

" Well don't do that. That's what people call private."

" Well I'm sorry you think very loudly."

" Well what's the message?"

" Do not leave Paxton. He needs you more than you know."

" Okay well I'm sorry, but I don't want to kill someone I lo- Like."

" Do you really think you can hide your feelings with change in word choice?"

" No, but I tried."

" Indeed you did, but this is no game child."

" I know it isn't, but.."

" Then why do you not take this matter seriously?"

" Because I know I shouldn't."

" He will forget who he is entirely and probably be taken by a reaper because what use is he to the world if he doesn't remember. Child you and him have lived and died together 49 times. You cannot break the chain of time or he will die."

" 49 times?"

" Yes, so you two practically need eachother."

" But how did he survive me?"

" Because of me you two have lived like you are not a demon at all."

" Did he know?"

" All 49 times."

" Okay, but what if he doesn't want me?"

" Do you really think you havent done this 49 times? Of course he will take you. He loves you. It is both your destinies to live an endless time loop together."

" Okay."

" But child hear this. If you do not make it back in time he will die and his life time loop will die with him. No magiacal being can stop this so please hurry."
