The library reminds me of him.
I go there everyday.
I think maybe, just maybe. One day, he'll just walk right through those doors back into my life.
It never happens though.
The library used to be my safe place.
He used to be my safe place.
My best friend, Samantha always tells me I'm crazy.
There's plenty of fish in the sea.
I always wanna tell her that I know.
Because I do know.
What she doesn't know is that he's the only fish I want.
What if there isn't a sea surrounding me, but only a pond. There aren't many fish in a pond.
I'm only seventeen and feel as if I will never find anyone better than him.
Him as in Jake Huff.
The first boy who was important to me.
He was my first crush.
My first hug -who wasn't my family member or best friend.
My first boyfriend.
My first kiss.
My first love.
And of course my first heartbreak.
However it's been a year since he dumped me.
Somehow I feel as if I won't ever be able to move on.
Your first heartbreak is always the hardest.
That's what my mom tells me all the time.
I sighed and grabbed a book off the shelf then sat down at the couch that the library had. I opened the book, but didn't read. I was too focused on my thoughts of him to even focus on reading. The bell from door of the library rang causing my head to snap up.
This happens often.
The bell rings.
I look up hoping to see him.
It's never him though.
I saw Samantha standing right at the entrance. She was scanning around the library and I knew she was looking for me. How did I know? Well because as soon as her eyes landed on me they lit up and she began to make her way over to me.
"Sorry to disappoint you." Samantha said as she sat down right by me.
"Why do you think you disappointed me?" I asked.
"Because I know you were hoping that Jake was the one who came in." She said.
"Okay you got me there, but just so you know I think you're better than Jake." I said.
"Have you ever considered just texting him?" She asked.
"I don't wanna text him or message him on social media." I said.
"Then just go to his house." She said.
"I don't know if I can face him." I said.
"Well then I don't know what else to say." She said.
I bit my bottom lip and began to think of ways I could possibly contact Jake without it being online and without seeing him. My eyes lit up when an idea finally hit me.
