I went out to grab the mail, hoping that I had gotten a letter back from Brigit.
I was hoping she wasn't too disappointed to find out that Jake had moved and would continue writing to me.
I am in desperate need of some friends in this town. Although I am worried that people might try using me once they find out who I am.
I got the mail and started looking through it as I walked back inside my house.
My eyes lit up when I saw I had indeed gotten a letter back from Brigit and this time it said my name on it instead of Jake's.
I put the rest of the mail on the kitchen counter then quickly went up to my room to read the letter that Brigit wrote me.
Dear Jaeden,
I'm sorry for sending you those last two letters. I didn't know Jake had moved. No one had informed me. He didn't inform me. I'm sorry if I was a bother to you. So you are obviously new here, I hope you like the town so far. What have you seen since you've moved here? If you ever want a tour of the best places I could possibly show you around. In town is a really amazing library. It has so many books, it's a really underrated place though. The librarian there is actually pretty nice.
Sincerely, Brigit
I smiled as I set down the letter.
"Who's that from?" My mom asked.
I jumped a little from my seat because I did not realize my mom was standing at my bedroom door, looking at me curiously.
"It's a long story, kind of." I said.
"Well I have plenty of time, so come on tell me." She said as she walked over to my bed and sat on it.
I sighed and got up from my comfortable, spinny, wheely gaming chair, making my way over to sit down by my mom.
Once I sat down by her I told her the whole story, from the first letter I got to this last letter that I just received.
"Are you sure it's not from some crazy fan trying to trick you?" My mom asked.
"It's not." I said shaking my head.
"How can you be so sure that it isn't?" She asked.
"I can just tell by how sad her first two letters were that it wasn't some crazy fan." I said.
"But do you know if she is a fan at all?" She asked.
I shook my head.
"I'm not sure, she might be." I said. "But if she is, she has no idea who I actually am."
"Well that's good, but I don't know if it's a good idea for you to meet up with her." She said.
"I'll never know for sure if I don't try though." I stated.
"Besides I need to make friends somehow and this is the only way right now." I added.
