"Shawn, get the boys together, we told your mom we would be there by 4 and it's 4:30!" Blake called from Nadia's room.
"I'm trying!" I called back, as I shut the door to our room and did a quick jog down the stairs to the kids' playroom.
I opened the door to where my two 4 year old boys were playing with their legos, "Come on, we're already late boys, we need to get over to Grandma's."
A smile spread across their face as they dropped what they were doing and ran towards me. I lifted up one in each of my arms and carried them out to the car and put them in their car seats, right next to each other.
"Shawn, did you get their blankets? You know they can't sleep without their blankets," Blake said as she opened the other and put Nadia into her car seat.
"Yes, babe, it's all in their bag. Don't doubt me," I shot her a wink as we both buckled in the last of our kids in and shut the doors.
I got into the drivers seat and started the car before beginning our 2 hour drive to my parents. Days like this is when I missed the 30 minute drive to my parents, but I loved our home more than anything.
