My first job (and current one) is working at an ice cream parlor called Baskin Robbins. I started working here a week after my SPM exams and lemme tell you boo, it's the best first job ever. In my opinion.
It has a lot of perks to begin with. First of all, I get to eat ice cream everyday. A lot of people say that it's gonna "make you get fat", "bad for your waistline", "you're gonna gain weight" and all that jazz. Yes, ice cream is fattening and eating everyday is a very bad idea. But know this, it's a freaking luxury to have this job and eat BR ice cream everyday.
For your information, BR ice cream is pretty overpriced and not many could afford them. Secondly, their ice creams are heavenly. It's a celebratory kind of food and everyone only eats it once in a while. Unlike McDonald's ice cream or the ice cream selling guy outside your school that sells it for RM1.
So y'all haters out there that says that working my job will make me fat, kindly fuck off *shows both middle finger in the air* cause you ain't privileged like me.
Ps, I never gained weight working here. In fact, I lost a few kgs. Idk why.Another reason why I'd call this my dream job is because it's a walking distance to my house. It takes 15 minutes to get to work thus I'm never late, except a few times. I don't have to pay for transportation because all you need is a decent pair of legs and you're good to go. Plus, the walking part is great exercise.
Last but not least, the service here is pretty slow and I mean it in a good way. Ask you may know, the ice cream here is pretty expensive, we don't have much customers on a regular day, especially since school started. So basically, I can use my phone all day while working and still get paid. Yay. Plus, I'm never -except two times- tired during work. My job is pretty chill (geddit?).
Btw, my job pays RM5 per hour which is pretty standard if you ask me. The best thing is, I got this job right off the bat. My mom and I literally came here, asked for any vacancies and bam, the job is offered to me. No resume, no CV, nothing. Thanks, God.
I'm pretty grateful for this job because I got it really fast while the rest of my batch is still struggling to find jobs. It's a real difficulty when you start late. All the part time job offers are taken up and no store or company wants to hire you. Until now, some of my batch mates are still looking for jobs while I'm comfortably working at mine.
