Camila POV
The rest of the flight was relatively uneventful. My mum and Sofi had a brief chat with Lauren regarding her reason for being in New York. It all seemed friendly enough but I could tell my mom had some concern with us being in the same place at the same time.
New York was freezing which made me even more nervous it wasn't easy looking good, performing and being warm and practical all at the same time. We had hired out a Cuban restaurant in Times Square for after the show as a thank you to my team for working so hard to get my sola career up and running.
Lauren – I'm really dreading tonight xx
Reading Laurens text, I had completely forgotten about her actual reason for being in New York.
Camila – How about you let me make it better? Tomorrow meet me The Factory on 3rd. xx
Lauren POV
I wasn't exactly sure what The Factory on 3rd was. Typing it into google all I found where images of a factory near the river cleverly named as 'The Factory'. I decided to trust Camila's choice of venue and text her back.
Lauren – I have no idea where you are taking me or what you have planned but call it a date. What time? Xx
Camila – 4pm don't be late. Xx
I was really struggling to adjust to this new Camila. Her texts were a little blunter and a lot more straightforward and even though I knew she was around her family it pained me not being able to just call or facetime her. I wanted to share my whole life with her. We had already shared so much of it together so it was weird to act like strangers.
Getting to my hotel I checked in and found out Ty was in the room next to me. Knocking on his door I waited anxiously. We had been getting on really well since they had PR'd us up but I knew deep down for him this was more than just a PR stunt. The way he always went the extra mile in a photo or comment it was like he was not only trying to convince everyone else but also himself that it was real.
Stepping into his room the smell of weed hit me. "Hey Ty" I said sitting down on his window seat.
"Hey baby, you look good" Came his sleazy response. "You do realise we are not in public so you can turn of the charm." I said with a hint of anger.
He walked over to me and sat down next to me. Running his hand along my leg he leaned back against the window whilst taking another drag on his spliff. "Want some baby?" as he handed it to me. Fuck it I thought. If I was going to have to deal with this I would rather be slightly high.
Camila POV
I hadn't meant for my texts to be so blunt but the thought of her and Ty together was making me feel sick. I knew in a matter of hours she would be hanging all over him whilst the media feasted. Part of me still wondered if deep down she really did enjoy his attention. I mean I know she liked the free weed.
I had a couple of hours before my show so I decided to wrap up warm and head out into the city. I had to find a way tomorrow of escaping my family so I could meet Lauren and I knew already they would connect the dots.
I was just buying myself a hot chocolate when a small girl ran at me with full force. "Camila, Camila" she squealed. Looking around for her parents I spotted them running over. "Sorry she's bothering you" they said out of breath trying to pull her away.
"What's your name little one?" I said crouching down.
"Anna" she said sticking out her hand. I gladly shook it and pulled her in for a photo. After thanking me her parents picked her up and carried her away. I loved the younger fans they always reminded me of Sofi. Growing up she had always looked up to me and whenever I fangirled over someone she did too.
