Dawn crouched down and ran her free hand across the shelf. "What do you think I should get?" She depended on him to be her eyes.

"Do you think I know?" He let go of her hand. "You know I'm not much for the whole shopping thing."

She sighed. "Then could you at least try to pretend you care?" Running her hand across the shelf, she muttered. "Or at least pretend that you're having a good time."

He must of heard her because he responded to her comment. "I am having a good time!"

She stood up. "Sure doesn't seem like it." Lowering her head slightly, she sighed. "Really Ace, you don't have to lie. If you're not having a good time we can just leave."

"Dang it Dawn, listen to me!" He was shouting. "I'm having a good time."Ace grabbed her hand. "I. Am. Enjoying. Our. Time. Together!" How is he having a good time?

"Even if you hate shopping?" She asked, curious this was going.

"I didn't say I hate shopping." He interjected. "I said this was not my thing."

Dawn rolled her eyes. "Same thing."

"It is not the same thing! It is completely different!" She had to stop herself from laughing.

"Oh yeah, how so?" Another one of those times she wished she could see. She bet the look on his face was priceless.

"It just is!" It seemed he couldn't come up with anything.

She rolled her eyes again. "If you say so." Slipping out of his grasp, she began to wander aimlessly around the store. Shoppings not so fun when you can't see. She sighed.

The sound of music caught her attention and she stopped. Though it was pointless, she closed her eyes anyway, and listened. What song is this? She didn't recognize it, but she was attracted to it. It's beautiful, she smiled softly.

"It's wonderful, isn't it?" A voice whispered behind her. "A real piece of art" The voice clicked, and she opened her eyes.

"It's you." She breathed out.

They chuckled lightly. "Guilty as charged." The voice made her blood turn to ice.

"Now answer my question. Who are you?" Her voice was just above a whisper, but all she could hear was the beating of her heart. Calm down Dawn, you can't show fear.

"I told you, just someone from the past." She didn't believe it for a second, but the ice in her blood made it impossible for her to move. "Don't worry though, I'm not here for you, not yet." She gulped, her mouth suddenly dry.

"Then what are you here for?" Who ever this person was, they weren't to be taken lightly.

Another chuckle which sent another chill down her spine. "Oh, for this, for that." They leaned in close enough for her to feel their body heat. "And," he paused. "Princess, you really needn't be afraid of me." How could he tell?

"You're shaking." He answered her question. I am? There went her bravery plan. The ice in her blood shattered. "Stay away from me." Her tone was still above a whisper, but could cut across glass.

"Feisty, aren't we?" For some reason, she could picture this person smirking. "Let's see how long that's last." A single thought ran through her head and her blood boiled.

"I said, stay away from me." She raised her voice.

"Dawn, where did you go?" Ace's irritated shouts clicked in her ears. I can't risk shouting back to him, she pursed her lips. Ace, I'm over here.

"Oh my, it seems our time has been cut short again." With that, the warmth from the person was gone. It was just then that she realized that she was holding her breath.

"Ace, I'm over here!" She now dared to call out to him.

Footsteps, then the grip of a hand. "I thought you promised to not leave my side!" She gulped again. Maybe I was better off with that person.

"I was just wanted to look around." She snapped at him. "Is that too much to ask?" He was silent, and she knew he got him. He's not going to say, she pursed her lips. He wouldn't dare.

Finally, he sighed. "Okay, fine. Just tell me next time?" The sound of defeat was evident in his voice.

"I don't have to tell you when I want to look around," she was really starting to get annoyed. "You're not my babysitter." What is with him?

"You are if you want a ride home." He snapped back.

"If that's how you're going to be," she Yanked her hand out of his grip. "Then I'll walk home." Crossing her arms, she turned around and started walking off. All I wanted was to look around, but it seems that's too much too ask.

Someone in the store opened the door, ringing the bell. There's the door, she followed the noise and found the door. Pulling it open, she stepped outside, and let it close behind her. Now where do I go? She had no transportation, no support, and no friend.

Taking a guess, she began walking in a random direction. People would occasionally bump into her, the nice ones would apologize, the others would either say nothing or shout some sort of curse. Every time she ran into those sort of people, she would just roll her eyes and bite her tongue. Such great people, she smiled slightly. Even when she was lost, she could still be sarcastic.

Dawn sat down at the fountain and sighed. I'm not going to make it home tonight, am I? Rubbing her sore heels, she listened to the running water, and the passing people. So many conversations, she lifted her head. Do people realize how different each conversation is? She didn't think so.

Standing up, she dug through the pockets of her jeans. I know there should be some loose change somewhere. She grabbed something cool. There it is. With her free hand on the fountain, she pulled out the coin and put it up to her lips. I wish, she closed her eyes, savouring the moment.

With wish in mind, she flicked the coin into the fountain and listened for the splash. Opening her eyes, she smiled slightly, feeling childish. A teen can dream, can't she? She rested both hands on the chilled stone.

"There you are!" Dawn was almost knocked into water when she was pulled into what she thought was an embrace. "I'm so sorry." Ace's voice surprised her, but she found herself grinning.

"Can we please go shopping now?"
