Adopted At Last

My Family.

I sit there and wait for Colby to come out with the dang trash. Without having any control I start bursting into tears.

"Leyla!! Oh my gosh are you ok?" Colby said with excitement and fear in his voice.

" I-I need help please help me." I mumbled but before I could even finish Colby picked me up, dropped the trash and ran inside.

"It's ok I got you." I hear Colby whisper before I blanked out.

*some time later*

I hear fain voices and people rushing around and I don't know what's happening everything is black and I can't move. Barely even breath. My eyes start to opens and I see two white doors and AMBULANCE.

"Colby!? Corey!? Devyn!! Help!!! I start crying.

"Shhh shh baby I got you your gonna be fine quite down." I look over seeing Devyn whisper in my ear.

I have never felt more safe in my life. Her voice is so soft and smoothing I fell right back into that black void.

*some more time later*

I wake up again too see Devyn asleep on Corey's lap while he's half asleep.

"Corey?? What's wrong with me?" I ask in a loud enough whisper so he can hear me.

"Baby you just have a minor concussion and a broken leg." Corey was whispering so Devyn didn't wake up, "go back to sleep you need your rest"

"Alright, I love you Corey." I whispered "Thank you so much." He was shocked for a second.

"I love you too dear." He said softly putting Devyn on the chair next to him and kissing my forehead, "now get some rest."

I pretended to sleep as I over hear the doctor and Corey talking.

"I assume you are the child's father?" The doctor asked Corey.

"Actually she is an orphan that we had met a while ago, but we are wanting to adopt her, me as the father and Devyn as the mother." Corey said with confidence. I couldn't help but smile.

"Ok let me call and we will see about getting you the adoption papers tomorrow will that work?" The doctor said with a smile as he left the room

"Yes that will definitely work!" Corey said with a big smile.

I started crying, "Thank you so much. I love you and Devyn more than anything." I said on the verge of tears. Corey turned around, ran and gave me a hug while crying. "No baby, Thank you. Thank you so much." He said with happiness.

I fell asleep after that. I felt like my life just came together. Now I can be happy.
