There were only three days left until school would start again and Theo was nervous as fuck.

Liam's parents were about to come home in a few hours and then he had to convince them to let him stay at their house.

Not an easy task. In all honesty, whose parents would let a boy they have never seen or never ever heard of stay at their house?

Liam didn't seem to be bothered by the upcoming talk. He already was convinced, that his parents would let Theo stay at their house.

He knew them and they were good people, they would never send someone away who's in need.

At around four o'clock, Liam and Theo heard a car pulling inside the house's driveway.

Liam got to the door and opened it before his parents could pull out their keys. He greeted them with a big smile plastered on his face.

"Hey mum, dad. Nice to have you back." Liam hugged his mother for a short episode of time. "I've missed my little boy. How have you been? Was everything alright?" his mother bombarded him with questions.

His father just put a hand on his son's shoulder and said "I see, you haven't burned down the house."

Liam assured his mother that he had been okay during his time alone at home. He helped them get the suitcases out of the trunk and brought them to their bedroom.

During all that time, Theo sat quietly in the living room. Of course, he had heard every single word of the family's conversation. He had to grin when Liam's mother referred to him as 'her little boy' because even though Liam wasn't that tall, his mother was over a head shorter than him.

Theo heard Liam saying 'I have a friend over and we need to discuss something with you.'

When the three of them stepped inside the living room, he stood up. Liam's father was the first one to greet him.

"Hello boy, I'm Liam's stepfather Michael Geyer. Nice to meet you." He held out his hand for Theo to grab it.

"I'm Theo. Raeken. Nice to meet you too." He shook Dr. Geyer's hand with a firm grip.

His mother also held out her hand and said "I'm Kirsten, nice to meet you, Theo."
Theo also took Mrs. Geyer's hand and shook it with much less effort than before. "My pleasure!"

"So this is the boy you were thinking about all summer long?" Liam's father asked in a whispering voice so Theo couldn't understand him, but unfortunately, he was a supernatural being and therefore didn't miss a word.

Theo started to blush a little and Liam's face has gotten as red as a tomato.

"I only mentioned him once or twice. And he's a friend so I have the right to worry about him." Liam got in full defensive mode and his parents just smiled at him.

"It's okay, honey." Said his mother warmly. "What is it you wanted to talk with us about?"

"Well..." Liam started nervously "Can Theo stay here?"

"Yes, sure." Dr. Geyer answered immediately.

"No, you don't understand. I mean..." Liam paused for a second. "I mean for this whole year." He looked at his parents with pleading eyes.

"That's a very long time Liam. Why isn't he staying with his parents?" Liam's mother looked concerned from Liam to Theo and back to her son.

"My parents are dead." Theo said in a monotone voice.

"I am so sorry for your loss, sweetheart." Mrs. Geyer's voice was dripping with sympathy.

Theo could sense that Liam's mother was itching to ask what happened. He already came up with a story to tell. Saying that he had murdered them was clearly not the best idea.
