Athena Raines POV

I'm Athena Raine but most people just call me by my surname, Raine. I'm 17 years old and I come from a small town called mystic falls.

No, I'm not from a town full of mystical beings! If it were, I would have left a LONG time ago! Apart from majority thinking it's some paranormal hotspot thanks to authors making it seem that way! Mystic falls is actually quite a normal town, it's quaint but very normal.

Sorry to burst those imaginary bubbles of yours but this is reality and stuff like that doesn't exist. It never has and I'm afraid, it never will.

Anyway, I'm about 5'5 and have curly, dark brown hair with chocolate brown eyes.

Don't let my petite figure fool you! I'm a feisty little ninja, so I wouldn't mess with me. Unless your some supernatural being (which obviously isn't real!) then I don't think I have any chance.

But enough with supernatural nonsense. Let's get to why I moved and where a-bouts I'm moving to.

My mother and father are very successful landscapers and move around quite frequently because of their job. I however like to stay in one place so, my parents bought a house which I will stay in (like I always do) and that place is where my parents will come back to after their job. It's basically our family house. However, my parents move around very frequently so I'm normally home alone majority of the time; and before you even question further, yes I've slid down the staircase of my house a million times because pitches ceremony and yes I've re-enacted home alone a gazillion times because why the hell not.

I'm practically a walking child who's in a 17 year olds body. And now I question why my parents leave me all alone. Wow!

Anyway, recently my parents have become bored of our home in mystic falls and they said they wanted to change things up; which I resented with as much force as I could. However, it was 2 against 1 which means I was outnumbered.

I seriously need siblings so I can start to outnumber them! One day. One day I will outnumber them!

And this is why my parents decided on Beacon hills. Well, I added my input as I wanted to go somewhere which wasn't a crowd overload. They already had their own way once, so they agreed on this lovely town. I say lovely because the scenery I've seen from outside my car window is absolutely beautiful: tall trees, open roads, mansion sized houses.

Like I said, absolutely beautiful.

Once at my new home, I jumped out the car and breathed in the intoxicating breeze which filled my lungs with sheer delight. However once I saw the house that stood before me, my breathe was quickly flushed away. It was absolutely exquisite!

Grand double doors stood loud and proud at the entrance of the house. The wooden creak of the door made my heart swoon, it really was everything I'd ever wanted.

I pranced into the grand entrance way, to be greeted with a very extravagant staircase. To my left was a large living room, which could have been mistaken for a cinema room, and to my left was a grand dining room which I presumed would lead into an open plan kitchen.

If you haven't realised yet, I've got a nack for house design.

Anyway, I walked up the extravagant staircase and walked down the long corridor to my designated bedroom.

Double doors stood between me and my bedroom which I will wake up in everyday, until my mother and father becomes bored of this place.

I sigh at the sad thought of leaving. I never want to leave such an amazing place.

With one small sigh, I push open the doors to have my breathe blown away.

I'm aware I'm too excited about a house look but I don't care. I'm passionate about this sort of stuff and in all fairness, I couldn't care less what others thought about this hobby of mine. I'm passionate about it and that's all that matters. Nothing else.

Anyway, I looked around the room with awe. The queen sized bed laid perfectly in the middle of the room, a huge flat screen TV facing opposite it. Damn, Netflix and chill; I'm just kidding. I WOULD NEVER!!!

A large closet door was on the right hand side of the bed, which I presume is a walk in wardrobe by the double door look. And to the left was a huge floor to ceiling window which overlooked the beautiful woods, and even better; a glass sliding door is attached to the glass window which leads out to a small balcony. Yes, you heard that right, my very own balcony! And we can't forget the ensuite which is on the left hand side of the wall which is next to the double doors that allow access into the room from the corridor.

I've officially never been this spoiled in my life!

I literally never want this to end! If this is a dream, I most definitely don't want to wake up from it!

Sleep. Sleep does sound quite inviting after the long journey I've had today.

I looked at the inviting silk sheets of my bed and started to debate wether or not to sleep right now.

All judgment went out the window after a second and I then leaped onto the bed.

I'll just unpack tomorrow, I thought as I started to drift off into dreamland.

God, these silk sheets feel damn amazing right now!
