The air was cool and still. Snow was slowly falling and everyone was sleeping soundly. Everyone except the crying baby that is. Left in an alleyway beside a garbage bin by it's mother. "I'm sorry," she had whispered to the tiny bundle before leaving it to be found by a young woman, coming back from working over-time, who craved to have children but could not. She picked up the small child and examined his face. She knew she had to do he right thing and brought it to an orphanage.
It wasn't long until she had adopted him. Little Jay was full of laughter and cheer as he grew up. That is until a terrible thing happened. One night, a man barged into the small apartment. He demanded that she gave him his son back and when she refused he had killed her, painfully. Jay, who was 12 back then, ran away from everything he had ever known into a cruel world.
