"Hurry up, Astrid," Mom said, "you're going to be late for school!"
"I'm coming!" I yelled back.
It was the start of a new school year after a fabulous summer break. And I was going to spend it with my boyfriend for three years and counting, Tauno. We were in our senior year of high school. Tauno was a bit of an idiot, but a nice person, so I stuck around. I threw on a black crop top, white ripped jeans, and a pair of killer whale earrings, and went downstairs. My mom and dad sat at the dinner table waiting for me with disappointed looks on their faces.
"You're really going to be late, Astrid Kolfinnsdottir,"said Mom. (A/N is this how you spell her last name?) My last name was really strange. My dad's name was Kolfinn, so my last name was his name and daughter added at the end. It's just spelled weird.
Anyway, back to the story. I was rushing on my way to school, looking for Tauno. I was looking for quite a while when I heard him talking to his friends. I was about to surprise him with a hg from behind when I heard my name being said by one of his friends.
"So, how's it going with Astrid?" one of the friends asked.
"Don't worry, I'll have her V-card soon," replied Tauno. Hearing those words shattered the good mood I had been in this morning. Hearing those words shattered every good memory I had shared with Tauno for the past three years. They hurt. I felt tears well up in my eyes and let out a sob. I tried to cover my mouth, but it was too late. Tauno and his friends saw me. Confusion morphed into realization, the realization that I had overheard their converstion. I didn't bother waiting for an explanation.
"We're over," I shouted. And I turned and ran. Ran away from the memories and happiness of the past three years.
(A/N Sorry it's so short. I was editing what I had written so far because I had started this around 2 years ago and my story writing was even worse than now. I promise to try to make further chapters longer.)
