I ran to the girl's bathroom, knowing that Tauno wouldn't dare walk in here. I opened a stall and sat on the toilet seat, crying. My father had always taught me to hold in my tears and be strong, but today was just...yeah that's not happening. I had finished crying and was about to leave the bathroom when I heard someone else enter. I stayed in my stall until I heard the faucet turn on and off and the person finished washing their hands. The person was about to leave when they were stopped at the girls' bathroom door.

"Hey, Astrid! You in here?" Tauno shouted. "Come out you-"

Tauno paused here. "Oh hey, Sera," he said flirtatiously. "Have you seen Astrid? She has white blond hair with a black stripe in it. She is wearing a black and white outfit today."

'Sera' replied, "No, I have not seen such a person. And even if I had, I still wouldn't tell you. Now if you will excuse me, I have better things to do than entertain your notion that every girl you meet will fall in love with you. I'm sorry your girlfriend is missing. Maybe she found out about the stupid dare you made with your friends and dumped you. In which case, you deserve it."

I could imagine Tauno's stupid face at having someone talk back to him. I almost burst out laughing thinking of his shocked face. I held in the laugh, or else Tauno would find out I was in here.

After a moment of awkward silence, Tauno left and it was safe to come out of the stall. What I didn't expect was the 'Sera' girl to still be there. When I took a good look at her, I realized I knew her. Her and her brother were the most popular people at Miromara High. I was technically a transfer student, from Ondalina High, and I didn't know her well, but my first impression of her was that she was kind. She didn't flaunt her popularity and didn't look down on people.

"Are you alright?" she asked. "Did you overhear out conversation?"

"Yeah, but it's okay because I'm already over his sorry a*s. I wish I had seen his real personality during the three years we dated," I replied.

"Wow! Three years?! You tolerated his presence for three whole years?! Dang, girl! Respect!"

"Thanks. He was nice while we dated so I stuck around."

Sera laughed and opened the bathroom door for me.  I accepted and we fell in step as we walked to our first class of the day.

"Wanna hang out with my friends and I at lunch?" Sera asked. I accepted and we parted ways to our separate classes. Me to PE and Sera to math.
