Alice's pov.

Light blue fabric cascaded down to the floor, even though I was standing on a circular platform. Some of the maids that were good with needles and sewing made the dress a good length. The fabric almost glowed blue but with a sheer layer of sparkles that made it even brighter.

It was tight over my chest and waist and then flowed out at the bottom in a beautiful style. It made my already tanned skin even tanner and my brown hair shine. I looked beautiful, like a  true royal princess.

It made me look perfect but I liked the fact that I'm not perfect. I liked how much my hair wasn't perfectly straight but had a curl to it and that I almost always left it down and wild even during training.

The annual alpha's ball was in a few days and that means that the king and queen will be also joining it. Before my mom took place as queen and my dad as king the ball would rotate around the packs. One alpha would host it one year and then it would go to the other. Now the ball always takes place here at the castle.

I'm finally eighteen so that means that I've started to slowly learn everything it takes to be a true queen. Children weren't allowed at the alphas ball so this would be my first year attending and being introduced to all the alphas. I've met a few in the past but I will need to learn and meet every one of them.

Alphas are allowed to bring their luna and their beta and third if they see fit but usually they choose between their beta or delta because someone has to keep a eye on the pack.

Me being the oldest child in the family means that the role of queen comes to me when my parents retire or if they decide that when I come of age I will take the throne as my own. I won't be becoming queen until I'm twenty-one if my parents do decide to do that unless something were to happen to one of them. They said that once I shift into my adult royal form that I will be ready to become queen.

The problem is, average wolves shift at the age of sixteen but I haven't and I'm scared that I won't ever shift. My parents believe that I will shift when it's my time but I'm slowly losing faith as the days pass. It leads me to wonder if I'll even shift by the time I'm twenty-one.

When my mom took over she met with the kings and queens of other creatures. Vampires and werewolves always had trouble with one another but my mother being half vampire made peace with the vampire king and queen. It's hard to think of me taking over after such an amazing queen. She also made peace with the witch covens, werewolves weren't considered enemies but they weren't exactly at peace either.

While in my thoughts, I didn't realize that the two women working on my dress had finished. I smiled and thanked them before getting off the little platform and started walking to my room to get changed.

I quickly hung up the dress and changed into training clothes which consisted of black yoga pants and a blue sports bra. I loved to train, it reminded me that with every session I was becoming stronger and more skilled. I want to be a good queen and stand by my people no matter what, physically and mentally.

This was my second round of training today but it was normal. My trainer and my fathers royal second in command trained me everyday. I've known Victor since I was a baby, he was my dads second in command when he was alpha of the pack.

When my mom decided to take role as queen my dad followed as king and their pack became the royal pack. It wasn't different from before but it doubled in size and they took a different territory around the castle that was also so much bigger.  Now my mom and dad had a greater responsibility to take care of not only their pack but look over all the other ones.

I met up with Victor in the training room a few rooms down from mine. This was my training room, the usual training room for the royal family was in the east wing of the castle but since we had extra rooms next to mine we knocked down a wall between two and made a huge space just for me.
