Oh god this is awkward

As i walk down the street heading to school i see people walking together there either behind me or in front and i can hear them whispering about me. I suddenly feel a tap on my shoulder "Hi you must be new because i've never seen you around" a boy around my age with extremely curly hair says "Yup thats me" i say awkwardly smiling "well i'm jack and this is Corbyn, Zach, Jonah, Daniel and this is Christina" he says pointing to everyone

" wait Christina Maree" i say smiling with hope "yeah why" he says looking confused "STEPHANIE" Christina yells and hugs me "Chrissy" i say into the hug "wait you two now each other" Zach says "thats where i know you from you and Chrissy are internet best friends she always talks about you" Corbyn says smiling "finally i'm not the only girl" she says looking at me "at least i have someone here i know" i say smiling "we better get to school cause i need my timetable" i say gesturing to school "i actually volunteered to show you around" Jack says smiling like crazy "ok" i say smiling back.

"Ok so we have most classes together except for food you have that with all of us and jack is in all your classes and you have corbyn and Zach in sport today" Chrissy says pointing to my classes "nice at least i have people i know" i say sighing in relief.

First class food i had jack in that class which is good because it was partner work and we were making cupcakes "you know how to make cupcakes right" he says whispering to me "no clue" i whisper back "you" i whisper hoping he does know how to "why do you think i asked you i have no idea" he says slightly nervous "we got this" i say kissing his cheek in reassurance "thanks" he says holding my hand and squeezing it "ok so first ingredient...."

Time skip to Lunch

"So how was it?" Chrissy asks as she sits down next to corbyn and me "good we made cupcakes you want some" me and jack say together "they would make a cute couple" Corbyn says to Christina "we heard that" me and jack say together again "ok stop" we say again"no you stop" we say again and then i think of something to say to make him stop

nothing i dont say anything for a while before he realises whats going on "please dont ignore me Steph" he says and i turn my head away but after awhile it gets boring so i talk "how was home Ec Chrissy" i say facing her "good but jack look's like he's upset" she says whispering to me i look over at jack and see that he's disappointed i go over to him and kiss his cheek and then walk out of the cafeteria towards the library i turn around and see jack with a smile on his face and is punching the air.

Once i get into the library i see the jocks staring at me and when i look down i realise i'm showing a bit to much cleavage so i wrap my cardigan around my chest and head towards the young adult section and pick up the fault in our stars i love that book

Time skip to after school when she's walking home (cause i'm lazy)

I'm walking home and reading my book when suddenly i hear my name i turn around and see jack running up to me "Stephanie hey" he says puffing "hey what are you doing" i say with a confused face " i was gonna ask you where you went to during lunch and where you were at recess" he says "oh i was at the library doing my extra work" i say putting my book in my bag "extra work?" he says giving me a weird look "yeah i'm trying to get into UCLA and i need good grades' i say embarrassed he's probably gonna walk away thinking i'm a nerd "oh wow i had no idea you wanted to get out of this town so badly" he says with a hurt face "jack i've been wanting to go to UCLA since i was 13 and i'm 17 thats 4 years of hard work and dedication ok" i quickly walk off why does he care if i leave i only met him 9 hours ago.

As i open the door to my house i head up to my room and read my book ten minutes later i get to the part (SPOILER ALERT IF NOT SEEN OR READ BOOK) where Augustus dies and i cry and throw he book across my room and i hear a knock on my window and see jack i open my window and he climbs through "oh my god are you ok did anyone hurt you" he asks worriedly looking at my tear stained face "oh no one hurt me i was just reading the fault in our stars and i was at the part where" I CANT HEAR YOU LALALALALALALALALALALALA" he says yelling "you haven't red the book have you?" i say "no so don't ruin it for me" he says "listen i'm sorry for what i said earlier i didn't know that you wanted to go to UCLA really badly" he says looking at his dirty vans "its fine" i say smiling at him

"so do you wanna watch the fault in our stars" i say "only if there's snacks" he says smiling back "theres always snacks do you know me at all" i say pretending to be hurt "k so just get the movie on with Netflix and i'll get popcorn and ice cream" i say handing him the remote "is it vanilla" he says "obviously thats my favourite flavour" i say heading downstairs as i get all the snacks i creep upstairs to scare him

As i get to my door i hear him saying "she's a keeper" "who?" i say as i hand him the snacks "No one " he says smiling "i got tissues incase you cry" he says handing me a box "you know me so well" i say as he clicks the play button he holds my hand and then when the sex scene came on it got awkward so i just said i needed to use the toilet but really i was texting Christina all the details. when i came out jack was on his phone texting someone "who ya texting" i said as i got under my blanket "i was texting her asking if i could stay the night if thats cool with you?" he says looking at me "yeah sure my parents are on vacation for a month so they won't really care" i say shrugging

truth is my parents were in a car crash and died last week and we were meant to be here last week but i just stay here and my aunt comes and checks up on me every week. 20 minutes before the movie finishes i fall asleep on jack's shoulder but i can still hear him when he says "Goodnight princess"

Maybe being new isn't so bad after all
