Dear Meghan Julie,
It's almost been 10 years. 10. Can you believe it? It seems like it just happened yesterday.
Your mom and our dad are fighting again, about the scholarship we made in honor of you. Your mom is pushing us out Jules. My mom told me it's happened before, the fighting. She told me how they had to send letters to each other to discuss about you and Karen.
Karen. I wonder what she's doing now. Probably trying to get Meghan and Alexis to bed. I hope you know she named Meghan after you. Meghan. I liked that she did, I mean, I would too.
Meghan's growing up Jules. She's 5. She knows how to write and spell and read. She's going to pre-school. Heard she has a lot of friends. She's a beautiful young girl. She'll turn out like you and Karen.
Alexis is 3. Spitting image of her dad. Curly brown hair. She cracks me up, such a little trouble maker, like you. She loves her sister, I know it.
I wish they could've met you. You'd be a great aunt.
I also wish you were here, with me. With all of us. I wish I could talk to you, and get an answer back. I need your help. With a lot of stuff. Ya, I could talk to Karen, but it would help if you were here, too.
About the fighting. And the scholarship. So we made a scholarship in your name, to honor you. I guess. We did it together. Your mom, dad, your grandma and grandpa, Tina, my mom, and me. Together.
But the past 3 years have been different. We're being shut out, like we're not family. Dad sent an email to your mom. Saying when we were going to pick the winners of the scholarship, but they already did that. She also said to my mom, "it's a family thing," well what are we?
She might have lost a daughter, but I lost a sister, dad lost a daughter, and I count my mom loosing a daughter, too. She always said you were her bonus daughter, not a step daughter.
We also lost you.
