This is a place where I don't feel at home

Clara walked quickly behind him as they headed to the pickup area of the airport. He was much taller than she was and it felt like she had to take two steps for every one of his. People are looking at me, she realized as she hurried through the airport. I guess that's inevitable, huh? I look so different from everyone else here. My skin is darker, my hips are wider, my waist is curvier, she thought as she scanned the airport. I guess that's just a part of the deal, huh? With that, she steeled herself and continued after him. Eventually, they arrived at the doors to the passenger pick-up. He continued quickly to a black van parked in a slightly secluded area, but she faltered at the doors.

"Wait," she called out to him. "I don't have my coat. It's in my duffle bag."

He turned around then, seeming to have finally realized that she wasn't dressed for 15 degrees Fahrenheit weather. She shivered a little under his gaze. He glanced back at the van for a second before he began to push the cart to the side. He knocked on the window and spoke with someone for a second. He nodded at someone in the car briefly before opening door and pulled out a large black puffer coat.

Quickly he jogged back over to her and handed her the coat. "I apologize I hadn't noticed. I didn't even introduce myself to you properly. I'm Choi Soon Ho. I am a 매니저 at YG Entertainment. I already spoke with Marin-ssi. We'll be placing you in a hotel in Hongdae, close to YG Entertainment. You'll be meeting there tomorrow with your potential employer. I hope that's enough. I have a schedule that I need to attend to so we need to get you settled in for the night quickly. Are you ready?"

She quickly threw the coat over her shoulders and zipped it up. She nodded her acknowledgment of his words and he quickly clasped her on the arm and let go before heading over to the van. She followed behind him in quick step. While she was speaking him, someone had loaded her things neatly into the van. Only her carry-on was left on the trolley. When she got to the van, she picked it up and got in. As soon as she was in the van, another man slammed the sliding door shut behind her. She looked behind her and saw that Choi-ssi was returning the trolley.

"You can have a seat in the back there," another man, a 매니저 she assumed, pointed out to her. She quickly sat down, strapped in, and began to fiddle with her phone. She heard the man speaking quickly with the driver in Korean, but she couldn't understand any of it at all. They sat for in an awkward silence as they waited for Ho-ssi to return.

"Turn the heat up," Ho-ssi brusquely as he pulled open the door. "I had her standing in the cold."

The smell of the cigarette he had been smoking fanned off his breath. When no one made a move to turn the air up, he leaned forward and fixed the controls himself. Turning back in his seat, he looked her in the eyes and said, "It'll be about an hour until we get to your hotel. The car should warm up soon. Sit back. You can listen to music if you'd like. I'll let you know when we're getting closer."

She tried her best to smile back at him before she leaned back deeper into the seat, as if she could disappear into it. She dug around in her carry-on bag until she pulled out her headphones. She quickly put it on before queueing up Pharrell's In My Mind. Slipping her phone into the pockets of Devon's corduroy jacket, she angled her body away from the van, turning to face the window and watch as buildings raced by.

She's an angel.

I don't care if you can't see her wings.

Watch her fly, yeah....

Time seemed to fly by and next thing Clara knew, Choi-ssi was calling out her name and telling her that they had entered MyeongDeong and would be at her hotel shortly. She took out her headphones and slipped them back in her carry-on bag. She shuffled just a little in her seat until she was facing forward. She sneaked a look around the car. The man who had closed the door behind her was still speaking with the driver and Choi-ssi was tapping a beat on the dashboard. No one seemed to notice that she had out her headphones away.
