As many of you (or some of you) know that wattpad has been going through some technical difficulties. Many of your favorite authors, including myself have been experiencing a lot of issues this past week.
So why am I making this? Because as I was about to finish up the last paragraph of today's update (currently 1:02 am) something tragic happened. I logged on and guess what?
The chapter is gone.
I know I didn't delete it by accident. I know I wrote it. What. The. Fuck.
So like everyone on here, I contacted wattpad support. They were supposed to do mandatory maintenance two days ago (January 10th. Currently January 12th) but they decided to push that until next week. The maintenance is supposed to be all day, leaving us into "read only mode" so that no author could update until this process is complete. But like i said, they pushed this life changing update until next week.
Something they really shouldn't have done.
Maybe it's just me (but it's not) but wattpad has been saying that I cannot comment on a book, an "error" message pops up saying some code and that they're working on it. Guys, I can't even post on my message board. Not only that, but the app has been incredibly laggy. At first, I thought it was my phone. But no, all this time it has been the app itself.
Now back to the missing chapter.
As said before I contacted wattpad and what did they say? Well they told me like they told everyone else on their social media platforms. That any missing drafts should appear in 24 hours. Well, I update on Friday's, not Saturday's. Like I know I'm late sometimes, but I'm on time for this one. It's really bumming me out.
Moral of the story:
- Wattpad, get it together. - The update will be late and that out of my control. - I need to start saving all documents into google drive.
