Elijah's P.O.V

We ate our messy burgers in silence, aside for the occasional crunching sounds from pickles or fresh lettuce.

I couldn't believe it meant something to her too, I mean, I've liked her for so long but I never imagined myself kissing Cherry.

Her lips tasted like the vanilla lip smackers she always wore & they were light and smooth. Her breath smelt like a faint wintergreen & she smelt like blooming flowers and coconut. She was truly amazing, but I'd been waiting for a moment like this.

I needed to talk to her more about what had happened but I couldn't with both of our faces stuffed with burgers, so I'd do it later, besides, it was only 3:15 so we had plenty of time.

I looked up from my meal & stole a quick glance at Cherry who was sitting silently, chewing slowly. She had been thinking this whole time but she just sat and ate.

Cherry's P.O.V

I took another bite into my burger. I figured, if I could make some other sort of move in the mall or at the movie, I could prove to Elijah I did like him.

Besides, he did say it meant something to him so it's not like it matters if I make a move, it can only help me.

Maybe I'll hold his hand or wrap my arm around his waist. I mean, the worst that can happen is he will brush me off... But he won't. I know he won't.

I looked down at my phone. It was only 3:20 so we have plenty of time.

I finished off my burger & wiped my slightly greasy fingers on my napkin. I grabbed two fries, dipped them in ketchup & shoved them into my mouth, sneaking a peak at Elijah.

He looked at his fries, moving them around with his fingers. He looked a bit down.

"Hey, are you going to finish or do you want to head out of here?" I asked, breaking the silence.

"Uh, no. Lets leave." he said, smiling to me.

Elijah paid & left a tip on the table as we got up & walked out together.

We jumped into the jeep & headed off on the half hour drive to the mall. I didn't mind the way we drive silently, but I needed to talk to Elijah about the kiss more.

"Hey, so about earlier." I started but was cut off by a small sigh for Elijah.

"What's wrong?" I asked hesitantly.

"Well, I just. I-I really like you, Cherry. I just don't know what to do about it." He spoke quickly & didn't stop to take a breath.

"You know I like you too, don't you." I spoke as calmly as I could in a quiet tone.

"Y-yeah, I guess so." He stuttered.

"Then what's the problem? Are you nervous?" I shot back quick, eager for answers.

Elijah breathed in & out heavily while he rubbed his temple as he drove.

"Yes. Of course I am. You mean so much to me & I can't even remember the last time I thought of you as only a friend." Elijah spoke smoothly, instantly regretting it but the way his eyes widened.

"I know how you feel." I replied then turned to look out my window.

I heard Elijah sigh but I brushed it off, I don't want him in a bad mood if we're spending all day together.

The quiet drive went by slowly but eventually when it hit 4:05 pm, we got to the mall.

We pulled into one of the seemingly full parking lots & began searching together to find a spot.

I noticed a spot big enough for his jeep just up ahead. Along with a couple of sketchy looking guys standing by a nice corvette beside the spot.

"Elijah, up there, we can park there." I said quick, eager to get the spot before someone else did.

Elijah sped up a bit to get there but before we could get more than two meters away, a second corvette sped into the spot without any consideration for us almost being hit.

Elijah slammed on the brakes to save is from being hit.

The guys jumped out of their car & came over towards the jeep, the other two cautiously watching from the good of the first corvette.

"Hey man. What's the big idea trying to sneak into that spot, eh?" the one spoke, a leather outfit on.

Elijah got out half way but kept his door open & his foot in the car.

"Sorry, I didn't see you going for it, it's yours." Elijah said as he twitched nervously.

"Elijah what the hell? That was our spot." I whispered to Elijah who sent me a death glare, clearly meaning "shut up".

I sighed & leaned back as I watched Elijah nervously smile to the guys & hop back into the car.

Elijah kept driving while he chewed his nails & looked for a new spot.

"Elijah, why didn't you say something, what happened back there?" I spoke softly, hoping not to upset him.

"Hm? Oh it was n-nothing to worry about." he spoke quickly, trying to get out of telling me.

"No, that wasn't nothing. When we get inside, you are telling me." I spoke straight to him with a stern look on my face.

He turned slightly to look & see if I was serious. He sighed and muttered an 'okay' then continued to look.
