There comes a time in every first responders life, where you have to let someone go that was very close to you. Perhaps it was a husband or a wife. Or maybe a sibling or even a best friend. We see things that change us as people. And as people it's expected because we're only human and the mind and body can only endure so much trauma before it changes to adapt to the new situation. And unfortunately these people have a front row seat to watch us change. Sometimes it's to much for them to handle. Sometimes it's better that they go and so they make that decision to become distant from you. But if you look back on it. You need to realize they quit on you essentially. And where does that place them? Were they ever really what you considered them as? Did they quit when the going got tough? Honestly I'd have to say yes. But whom can blame them? There's days as first responders we wanna quit on ourselves. We wanna give in. We wanna pull that trigger or kick that chair out from beneath us. But we have to remember one thing when you become left alone In this world. The job we do is by far greater than any personal drama. And that is how we continue on. So my brothers and my sisters please..... remember the job we do is by far greater than any personal drama we may have. Keep on pushing guys.
