The whole night we were giving the toys back to the children of the village. In order to give each one back to their right owner, I had to sniff the stuffed animal and find the scent of the child. It was fairly easy and we were almost done, just one kid left to go. I took a whiff of the odd looking toy. It seemed to be self made. It was a flower with a smiling face, the center was yellow and the petals were rainbow. The flower had arms and legs that were green. None of the toy shops here made anything like this so yeah, definitely self made. I could also tell the child of this toy made it themselves because the stitching was off. I smiled at the thing, it was cute and gave me a warm feeling just looking at it.
"Do ya got anything?" King whispered, I looked up at him and nodded, he was currently in his human form. "I've met this child before, the scent is very familiar-" I sniffed the air, we were in the middle of the village on the stone road. "The child doesn't live that far from where we are... About a block away, near the flower shop." King lightly clapped and his big lips made a U shape, "I can't wait, when they wake up in the morning they'll all be so happy to have them back!" I giggled at the boy in a mans body and grabbed his hand, "Come on then! I want to be there when Ban wakes up, the look on his face will be priceless!"
The only sound you could hear were our rushed stomps, they echoed throughout the village. We turned the corner to little huts and houses. We stop our running and walked the rest of the way to the childs house. "Oh, here, this one!" I said pointing to a little brick and straw hut, jumping up and down excited. We walked all around the hut and the only window was in the kitchen. So far, the ways we have been getting inside of the houses and huts this far were through the windows, however the window for this hut was small so King couldn't fit with him being in his human form and although I was skinny, it was still too small for me as well. We didn't want to go through the front door because most of the doors in the village creek and make noise, we didn't want to wake up anybody in the house. Out of the two of us, King is the smallest one and could fit through the window if he was in his Fairy form. "Are you sure it's safe to do it out here? Nobody is secretly watching?" King asked as he twiddled his fingers, looking down. "I don't hear anyone, everyone is sound asleep so you're safe to do it... I promise." King looked up at me and sighed, "Alright, if you say so. Erm, do you think you could turn around?" I nodded and turned around. A poof sound could be heard and before I knew it, smoke engulfed me. I waved my hand in front of my face, swatting the smoke away as I turned back around to King. As the smoke cleared he slowly came back into my vision. "Oof, should have stepped a bit away as well, didn't think it was going to be that bad." King blushed and covered his mouth, little fits of laughter escaping. I raised a brow, "What is it that you are laughing at?" I asked with a pout. King only pointed up, I was confused as to what he was pointing at because when I looked up there was nothing there. "Luna... Your hair!" I went to the kitchen window and gasped, the reflection showed me, but my hair was all askew from the back and my pointy ear were showing. I cupped my face and looked away in embarrassment. I brushed my hair down with my fingers and grabbed the ribbons that had fallen on the grass that were covering my ears before. One of them was black with gold stripes and the other was a plum purple with a silver stripes.
Well they are out now, might as well keep it that way... Plus nobody is around so I'll be fine~
Since the ribbons were small I tied them together. I then put half of my hair up that way it was out of my face for the time being. Nervously, I turned back around, again, to King. I never liked showing my ears and I tried to hide them as much as possible. They were an insecurity of mine and when I was younger, kids would call me mean things like freak so I started to hate them as well... That is until I showed them to the group. Merlin said they were unique. Diane said they were cute. Liz said they matched well with my appearance. And King said they were beautiful. All of them said something nice and because of them I started to show my elf side off more when I'm around my friends.
"You should wear your hair up more... " I crossed my arms, kicking a rock away, "Why?" Kings cheeks turned pink as he rubbed the back of his neck, "Well because, uh, usually it's covering your face and you are quite attractive and, um, I really like your ears." King stumbled over his words a bit and didn't make eye contact with me. My stomach turned and my heart felt like it was racing. The way he looked while he was talking was adorable. "You like my ears? It's been awhile since I've heard those words. Thank you King, your words mean a lot to me." Without really knowing what I was doing, I got ahold of King and hugged him. But since he was shorter than I was now, his face went in between my breasts. I squeaked and then let him go, "I'm sorry!" Kings nose started bleeding and he waved his hand, "It's fine." Right after that he collapsed. "Uh, King?"
A Few Moments Later-
"The childs room is-" I sniffed the house again, "On the right side of the hut." I whispered to King who was inside of the kitchen now, alive, and my head peeking in. He nodded and floated away with the flower toy. Before this, when King had passed out, I wasn't sure what to do. His face was red, his eyes had swirls, and his nose was still bleeding. I shook him, called out his name, and was trying to think of a plant that would wake him up but I nothing came to mind in that moment. So I sat down and waited it out. Now we're here and he's up. I waited outside for King and thought about the child. The toy they made was cute, I just wish I knew who it was because their scent was familiar.
"Luna! We both know the child." I watched King fly out of the hut, closing the window behind him. "Who was it?" I asked, "Remember the little girl that made flower crowns? It was her." I thought back and pictured the brunette girl with big light blue eyes and scrub clothes. "Aww, I wish I would've saw her! She was so sweet and cute... Oh, maybe I can do something for her!" King tilted his head to the side, "What do you mean?" I rubbed my hands together and smiled, "Well, it seems to me that the girl likes flowers. The only places you can get some around here is either in the forest or a garden and I don't see a garden around here." I looked around the backyard and the only good place to put what I want, would be up against the brown fence. I closed my eyes and focused all of my energy on the ground beneath me and power in my veins. I stretched my arms out and slowly lifted them upwards. I opened my eyes and seen roots and vines come up from the ground, dirt kicking up as they swirled and formed bushes all around the fence. Different colored roses bloomed before my eyes, I tried to make them like a rainbow because that's what the girl did with her toy. King then came out of nowhere with a bucket and this rope looking thing. Water rained all over the flowers and they glistened in the moon light.
I spun around and clapped my hands. It was beautiful!
After our job was done, we headed back to our place. "I had so much fun with you Luna." King said, he was back in his human form. "Me too! I haven't felt this way in ages! We should hang out more like this!" King nodded frantically, "I would like that very much." I twirled a stand of hair and leaned on King as we walked, sighing happily. "So um, back when you said you haven't heard that in awhile, what did you mean by that?" I looked up at him, not expecting the question. "Well, the only two people in my life that had ever said that were... My mother and Aiden... It's strange because when I'm with you, I feel all these things that I thought I would never feel again and you tell me all these sweet things and- You just make me feel weird." King stopped, looking down at the stone road, I stopped in front of him. "I make you feel weird?" His voice was shaky, I felt bad because he probably thought I meant it in a bad way so I thought of another way to say it. "King no, I just, I mean... You give me... Butterflies."
