Leksi's eyes bounced between mine quickly until we heard a shuffle of people downstairs. She hurried to wipe the rest of the tears away from her face and sniffle back the ones that threatened to spill over.
"I don't regret it, Lex," I assured the girl between my arms, "I don't want you to either."
"I-I don't," she confessed, "...but I can't afford to fall for you."
"Wh---?"
"There'd be too much to risk---our friendship, my relationship with my sister, your relationship with your girlfriend," she shook her head, "We can't do that."
"Lex," I sighed, cupping her flushed cheeks softly, "It doesn't have to be that way. I can leave Sar..."
"No," she shook her head, squirming out of my hold, "It'll never work, Nate. It's only a crush. Just a stupid crush."
But we both knew that was a lie. Leksi's feelings towards me were awaken as soon as we shared that kiss; that kiss that set everything into play. Now we were here---coping with the aftermath.
The ruckus downstairs was getting closer and that meant less time I had to figure Leksi out. I wanted to hear it from her mouth that she wanted me as much as I wanted her. That kiss was proof of it, but I needed to hear the bittersweet words.
Shaking my head, I clutched her cheeks once more and pulled her face to mine. In a instant, our lips were locked in another fateful kiss that took both our breaths away. That wasn't just a kiss of a crush. It obviously more than she wanted to admit, but I guessed she needed hardcore convincing of the truth. So, I combed my fingers into her hair, knotting them softly as I increased the pressure on her lips. My tongue began begging for entrance; begging and pleading for a sample of her flavor, but Leksi shook her head. That wasn't enough to stop me though, I pushed her back until her back was pressed against the wall and in a quick motion, my hands were at her thighs, and she was being scooped into the air.
"Na---," she tried and I found it as my perfect opportunity for more of her. My tongue slipped between her slightly parted lips and a satisfied groan vibrated against her lips. Reluctantly, her hands knotted into my hair in a weak attempt to pull me away, but she found herself tugging lustfully at my short locks.
"Just tell me you want me," I breathed heavily as I pulled away.
Those same green eyes I fell in love with softened drastically, almost pitying my need for her.
"We can't," she breathed and I took her lips between mine again. I was going to convince her that we belonged together. Fuck Sarah, fuck what her parents would say, fuck everything. It was our time now and I wasn't going to let her slip by.
"Lex," we both heard Sarah call from the bottom of the stairs. Leksi tried quickly to break away but my hold on her was relentless. It wasn't until Sarah's footsteps were just an earshot away that I pulled away from Leksi, catching her by her hips before she fell to the floor.
"Are you okay?" I gasped at the awestruck sixteen year old.
Leksi licked my tasted from her lips before nodding.
"What's going on here? Is she okay?" Sarah worried.
"Yeah," I sighed, licking my own lips, "She was going to faint, but I think she's alright now."
"I think we should get her to a hospital, Babe."
But Leksi quickly shook her head. "I'm fine," she sighed, "I-I just need to get some rest. The excitement of coming here didn't let me sleep last night."
Sarah's natural maternal instincts made her press her hand on Leksi's forehead, "She is a little warm and sweaty," she sighed, "Get some sleep and I'll wake you for dinner."
