"Dude! Oh have I missed you, Joey!", exclaimed Billy, running to Joey hysterically, intentionally to give him a hug, however Joey had too much luggage in his hands. Both Billy and Joey stood in the parking lot waiting for the other guys. Joey was stood with a good posture, the bags on his shoulders were presumptuously heavy, due to the uneasy expression on his scrunched-up face. Billy remained in an unnatural position with his backpack slung over his shoulder and his suitcases beneath his feet.
"Man, how was your summer?", Joey interjected to break the silence of the struggle of carrying all their bags without assistance.
"I mean, my summer was alright. It could have been terrible honestly.""Why would you think that?", Billy queried as he hunted throughly through his bag to retrieve something, something that Joey could see. Billy continued looking through his bag for approximately three minutes when he found what he was looking for.
"Well, mine was pretty amazing. I met this girl at the beach, we met up, yeah yeah, you get me. It was a great summer for me.", Billy shows Joey a polaroid of him and the girl he met, and with very little enthusiasm, Joey says, "Billy, I really hate to say it but you may never see her again." Joey could have been extremely right or extremely wrong.
He seldom wasn't wrong, he was an intellect and an aspiring artist, really good at drawing.
He wasn't of mediocre standards, he was definitely something beyond amazing. He was so ambiguous and everyone in school knew him as Billy's Sidekick, his brains and conscience.
"Snuffy, Ricardo! Hey guys, how's it going? Where's Hank?", yelled Billy as loud as he could, like he didn't care about anything.
"Good! And, Hank had to stay home this year. He didn't tell me why, man, I miss him already.", Ricardo told everyone as he wiped the sweat from his brow.Gathered around the parking lot of the school, it felt so euphoric to them, being together like last year, minus Hank. As they discussed their summer activities, they watched the lines increase for the registration of the girls for the upcoming year.
"Damn.", whispered Snuffy as they all subtly gazed at one of the girls lining up.
"Guys, you're all literally staring at the same time, she might be creeped out. Stop,", Joey informed the group, as he gazed around at the other girls in the line.
"Chill out, dude. She may have never got that much attention, from four boys ever. Think of her self esteem!", Billy burst into laughter, high-fiving Snuffy and they both broke out into an outburst of laughter. The girl looked straight in their direction, and focused on getting her schedule and getting to know her roommates. They chuckled.I admit, I had been observing that group a little, even from the second I stepped foot onto the school grounds. I heard one another call each other by their names, so I know four people already, in the space of 2 minutes. They were the type of cool people I wanted to make my friends, but I was a girl. I would have to share a room for a year with another girl or two, I'd typically have mainly girl friends and I think I couldn't conform to those expectations.
After receiving my schedule, I headed towards their direction, whilst I had the burning desire to go and talk to them, but at the same time in the midst of a dilemma to actually talk to them. I kept my head held down, as I read my schedule and I looked around the grounds of Regis School. Wandering and looking, I stumbled straight into Snuffy; it was terribly painstaking."Oh my goodness. I'm sorry, but you were in the way, so move out my way.", I relentlessly said, just to prove I had that sort of bad personality within me, the personality which got me kicked out my old school.
Walking with confidence, I heard Ricardo and Billy laughing and Snuffy repeatedly saying 'stop it!'. While I walked round the corner, I glanced at them once more and felt a pair of eyes, following my footsteps: it was Joey. I half heartedly smiled and continued the walk to my dormitory.
As I began making an attempt to unpack, a boy bursts into my room. "What the hell do you think you're doing coming into a girl's room without knocking?!", I yelled. I was sat on the floor and I looked up, and Joey was stood beneath my feet as I was unpacking my clothes, (my underwear was peaking out of the side of the suitcase, embarrassed, I zipped my case back up).
"I apologise. I walked into the wrong room, I'm always confused with the building organisations, you know. I have been here for three years as well.", Joey softly said as I looked up at him blankly.
"It's fine."
"So. You got a name?"
"Christine. Call me Chris, if you want.", I replied, as I looked straight into his dark brown eyes. His eyes were so perfect.
"Okay, Chris. I'm Joey, nice to meet you, I hope to see you round." he said, just before he shut the door, before i could say something to him, like 'we should eat together tomorrow morning' or 'I'd love to be within your friend group'.I may not have shown it, but I really liked him. He was attractive: dark eyes, light brown hair, monochromatic shirt and converse, cross earring, seemed to work out, as well as being extremely courteous and polite. The first person I had been introduced to was the guy of my dreams, despite the fact I didn't show interest towards him when he arrived in my room. I wonder when the next spontaneous visit from Joey will be soon.
The door creaked open and a diminutive girl stood underneath the door frame. She walked straight over to her bed and pulled her stuff from her suitcase and whilst doing that she introduces herself. "Hi, I'm Caroline. What's your name?", the small girl said.
"Chris.", I said in attempt to smile. As she retrieved things from her bag, she left the room and went somewhere for a long time; she didn't return until 4 hours later.
It seemed fine to me that I had a free dormitory without that strange girl. She had a small introduction and decided to leave, I don't think I'd been so confused ever.
*knock knock.
This seemed unlikely to receive guests in a dormitory but, I still had a visitor. Stood opposite the door, I found the boy with beautiful brown eyes on my 'doorstep'. I invited him into my room, of course.
"Hey, what are you doing Joey?"
"Nothing much, I just got a little bored. Where's your roommate?"
"I don't know, she's been gone for over 2 hours."
As I state Caroline has been gone for 2 hours, Joey moves closer towards me.
"Do you want to sit down?", I ask him. He nodded and I show direction towards my bed; there wasn't any couches or chairs, I had one chair specifically for my desk.
"Well, how do you like Regis?", Joey asks as I lock the door (I don't know whether teachers can casually walk in my room),
"Okay, I like the site. I haven't had lessons so that might change my impression."
He laughed at my response, his laugh was so cute!
"So you have your schedule right?"
"Yeah. Do I have any classes with you?"
"Yes Chris. You're in all my classes."I am in all the same classes as Joey?! This day couldn't get better, I got noticed by Joey and he visited my dormitory twice. Amazing. My idea was that the following day I will find him in the canteen, and get enough courage to sit with him and his friends. I'm not familiar with his friends, I only have the few impressions from earlier today. Who knows how tomorrow will follow? Who knows what time my roommate will arrive home.
