A/N: Yey~! Finally had the time to update this!! Hehehe... Enjoy!!! :D And without further adeu, Utashi-chan presents... CHAPTER 9!!!
I sat alone on a stool right next to the bar sighing heavily for the millionth time. Natsu had been literally DEVOURING everything in his path for the last two hours. It's amazing how the guy's stomach can hold so much food in one sitting. I think it's highly possible that he's got a black hole in his system or something. Heh. What? Got another logical explanation for the unusually big appetite of his? Yeah. Didn't think so. I chugged down another glass of cherry lime (it's just juice to those of you who are wondering what the heck was that I just said) and sighed yet again. I was still furious about what happened during the dance. Natsu, you ass. I glanced towards the lighting mage sitting in between Erza and Juvia. The latter clearly keeping the purple-haired girl in close proximity as if to say that she had an idea about the almost kiss that happened at the dance. Elizabeth caught my eyes then quickly looked away. She was still holding the panda stuff toy I got in her arms. I turned around trying my best to hide my embarrassed face. "Hey lady, can I get another glass of this?" I asked the bartender.
She gave a nod and smiled "Sure."
I placed my head lazily on the bar table, my fingers carefully trailing the edge of the empty glass. "You broke up with your girl?" The bartender commented at my loneliness as she handed me my order. I shot up from my position and defensively shook my head. "N-no. It's nothing like that."
"Mhm." She muttered, obviously not convinced with my answer. "So where's your girl at? Is she here?" The brunette lady began.
"Shut up. I don't have one." I rudely replied.
"Ohh! Is she that one?" She ignored me and pointed towards the table where Erza and the other girls were sitting.
"N-no!" I whispered to her angrily.
She gave me a confused look "Oh. I thought she was. That girl's been staring at you for quite some time now."
"Yeah. Yeah. She does that all the time. Don't encourage her." I told her. Tsk. Darn it. Juvia's all fan-girling crazy again.
"Aww.. too bad. She's pretty. I wonder where she got the panda?" The bartender sighed dreamily like some star-struck teenager.
I drew closer to the older woman and whispered "Were you talking about the girl with the purple hair not the blue-haired one?"
"Yep." The brunette answered with a wink.
"Oh." I awkwardly lowered my head, cutting off the conversation but the lady bartender insisted on putting her nose into other people's lives.
"Tsk. Tsk. Did I struck a nerve?" She laughed nonchalantly.
I kept quiet and tightly gripped the empty glass container in my hands. Glancing sideways I noticed a familiar figure making her way towards me.
I loosened my grip and attempted to act all cool and calm. She sat right next to me, the giant panda on the seat next to hers. "Mind if I join you?" Elizabeth began. "Lyon went on with Juvia and Erza left." She added in her usual monotonous voice.
I gave a quick nod and shifted uncomfortably in my seat. I was about to offer her a drink when I noticed the bartender grinning like some crazed maniac and was staring mindfully to the one beside me. "Here you go love! This one's on the house!" she cheerfully said as she handed a glass filled with dark red substance to Elizabeth. The girl happily (I think. She's still severely lacking emotions) received the drink and chugged it down in one go slightly making an obviously disturbed face at the after taste.
