ELIZABETH'S POINT OF VIEW

I watched him as he ran away with such haste. Heat made its way to circulate my body, biding not to leave. My heart was beating fast. But from what? Shock? Embarrassment? Or was it because of his confession? I can't really tell. It was such a foreign feeling. One of which I have never encountered in my life till maybe these past few days. I placed a hand longingly to where my heart was. It was painful yet I couldn't help but feel happy.

"What's happening to me?" I whispered, assessing my current self.

Erza turned to me with a worried expression "Elizabeth?" She called out.

"I'm fine." I quickly said, retreating my hand to my side. She didn't say anything further, though we both knew that i was beyond the epitome of 'fine'.

She finally gave me an exhausted look then sighed heavily. "You.. you should go after him."

My eyes widen in confusion. Why should I go after him?

Erza smiled softly as if to say that she can read my mind "You'll find out for yourself."

I looked at her still confused but gave a meek nod nonetheless. With heavy steps I staggered towards the trail of footsteps he left on the sand. With each passing moment my mind wanders to today's mishap.

'I like you Elizabeth'

He said it so clearly. The words came out smoothly and swiftly, it left my brain in such a commotion. He likes me? Is that why he almost kissed me during the dance? My face heats up from the memory. Looking back to the first day I saw him, he gave a first impression of this aloof, cold and self-centered guy, but as the days progressed, I saw a side of him that was pretty much not what one would expect from him. He's clumsy, easily angered and stubborn. But he has a caring heart. He's been a gentleman and a great companion during the festival. He won me that panda.... wait. The panda!

I immediately turned on my heels and ran towards the cabin. I frantically go through all my belongings only to have my fear been realized. The panda was gone. Unconsciously, the tears began to flow down my cheeks. It's much more than a toy. Gray won that for me. Nobody's ever did that for me. Nobody but him. The subtle tears were quickly replaced by muffled sobs. The memory of the dance came flooding back. His bashful smile. His silly laugh. The way he scratches his neck when embarrassed.

I slowly stood up, now fully aware of the warm streaks of water flooding my eyes. I hold the side of my cheeks. I was crying. I haven't cried before, even back when I was a child. What is wrong with me?

Erza stood by the door with a disappointed look on her face. She came towards me and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Go." She muttered.

Then this time without hesitation, I took off, running breathlessly, light on my feet. These feelings. I'm really not accustomed to them. As stupid and irrational as it may seem, I just kept on running without a particular clue of where I was headed. I just kept running with him on my mind.

The day went on and soon it was already night time. Wandering restlessly I came across a dense forest. I had no idea where I was so I've decided to climb the tallest tree and search my way out. As i was finding the perfect tree to climb, I saw a familiar silhouette leaning against the bark of a tree.

"Hey." He called out, aware of my presence.

I stiffened for awhile but cautiously approached him anyway. I awkwardly gave him a nod and then looked down to my feet, shifting my weight from front to back in a cycle. Lyon had an amused look in his eyes. His mouth tugged into a sly grin.

He ran his hand through his hair then spoke "I've got something for you."

I lean my head to the side, a questioning look plastered on my face. He responded by grinning wider, his shoulders shaking slightly trying to contain his laughter. "You're just too cute." He mused. Lyon took a step forward, his hand gently grazing over mine. I flinched at his touch but beckoned not to struggle free from his grasp. "Let's go." He told me in a low voice and proceeded deeper into the forest.

"Where are we going?" I asked when I finally found my voice.

"You'll see." He responded not giving anything away.

We walked for about an hour until we arrived in a center valley covered in snow. Snow? In this heat? He let go of my hand before he stood aside to give me a full view of the magnificent creation. My panda. My treasure. It sat proudly on top of a throne made entirely out of ice. A row of frozen roses surrounded it.

I turned to Lyon, relief washing over me. "T-thank you." It was all that I could say.

Lyon shook his head then pointed towards the ice sculpture with my panda. "Nope. Not me. Gray did this for you." He simply stated.

My eyes quickly darted back, hoping to find the ice-mage responsible for all of this. And I did. He stood awkwardly at the center, now holding my panda.. the very same panda he gave to me. He had his charming bashful smile on and was trying his best to look at me straight in the eye. I approached him quietly, my face probably the darkest shade of red.

"Put your shirt on." I told him, urging myself not to smile.

He scratched the back of his neck and looked away. "First things first. Here." He held out the toy.

My hand twitches when i took it, and soon the unwelcomed tears were back.

"W-What's wrong?!" He panicked.

Unable to hide my emotions any longer I pulled him into a hug. "Thank you." I whispered to him.

I felt him tense but soon gave in and reciprocated by burying his head into my hair. The scent of him was sweet and comforting. All my doubts began to fade.

What is this feeling?
