Brandon's POV

"B" Imani called from our bedroom. I sighed, she'd been working me like a slave and although the feeling of having my soon to be wife depending on me was amazing, I am starting to get tired.

"Yeah babe?" I asked her handing her a smoothie she'd read about full of the natural vitamins the baby needs.

"What do you think about having our baby naturally?"

"What you mean?" I asked her.

She smiled. "No meds, no inducement just letting baby girl do as she pleases." She explained.

I shook my head knowing she wasn't that good with pain.  "Can you handle that?"

She smiled the purest of smiles, "yes, I want our baby to come out beautiful and healthy."

"Yes, I do too but my mama had drugs with me. I'm straight." I shrugged my shoulders.

"That's debateable babe." She laughed and I rolled my eyes and kissed her.

"Whatever, listen I'm gonna go pick up some food. You hungry?"

"Yes I'm really hungry." She smiled rubbing on her belly.

"I don't see how. Watching all those birthing videos." I said with a look of disgust.

She had gone on a YouTube frenzy and watched every vlog with a black woman in it who'd had a baby in the past year at least.

She shrugged. "This is what our bodies are made to do." She smiled at me.

"Nah bae, our bodies ain't nothing. That's all you." I said

"Whatever, go get my food." She said shooing me.

I got dressed leaving the room and then the house.

"Yo."

"Somebody at the restaurant to see you. Some nigga talking about he wanna wash some dishes  for you." Curtis said.

I sucked my teeth. "Tell em we got dishwashers." I said not feeling the bullshit.

"Got you." He said.

I shook my head. After Imani and I got into it I was certain I wanted to move smarter, and I have been. I've never been a sloppy nigga. That's not my style. I'm not into no flashy shit, no stupid shit, no nothing. I like going in, getting my money and keeping it pushing. Now that I'm getting married and starting a family I don't need this shit flaring up and knowing that my daughter is gonna be here in a little while makes me want to slow it down.

Of course, I wanted to keep at it but the harsh reality is that this life style ain't for the weak and my Mani and my baby girl make me weak. You can't be a 'drug lord' and a model husband and father at once. One gotta go and I'm man enough to know that only one thing truly matters; my family.

I went into the direction of the restaurant. Soon with the help of my pops and my brothers I'll be officially out of this game. A and Curtis don't want this shit either so we putting this to rest. Not of course, without making sure everybody who's worked for us is straight. Everybody gonna be able to eat because the Knights ain't built this shit by ourselves.

"Yo." I said coming in.

"These niggas watching us." Curtis said to me peering into my eyes.

"Ain't shit to see."

"I know that." He said following me towards the back.

"What's Trina." I said to my sister in law and grabbed my nephew from her, I kissed his head.
