The car pulled up outside a block of flats, that were surrounded by a dozen police cars and even more officers. "We're here," John exclaimed as he paid the cab driver and opened the door. You both got out of the cab and you looked around, you were trying to hide the small smile creeping its way onto your face. It's bad but you absolutely loved this and the adrenaline rush of being around what you assume a murder scene.
A lanky, pale, dark-haired man approached you and John as the taxi drove off. "Hello John," he greeted in a very baritone voice. The man turned to you and looked you up and down - he was deducing you.
He held out his hand for you to shake it. "Sherlock Holmes," he said as you shook his hand.
"Y/N," you replied with a smirk not breaking eye contact. You could tell that John was uncomfortable, it was quite laughable.
John coughed to get our attention, "What happened then Sherlock, murder?"
"Sort of, follow me."
You, John and Sherlock walked further towards the flats and were immediately greeted by a Scotland Yard officer. "Hello Sherlock, John," he greeted, "Who's this?" he asked, nodding towards you.
"She's with us," Sherlock replied, completely monotone as if without emotion and
"Yeah okay, but who is she?"
"Y/N," you said to him, followed by a half-smile.
"Ah, I'm Greg," he said in response, "How'd you wind up with these too?" Greg laughed.
"I know John from work at the surgery, and I shouted at John to let to let me tag along," you told Greg as John and Sherlock walked ahead. You could just about hear them talking.
"Why did you bring her John?" Sherlock asked John, "I despise new people."
"You did say she could come," John said with a small laugh.
"Oh come on John, I wouldn't have just said no."
"You could have," John smirked, "Just wait and see, you might like her."
Greg sped up to catch Sherlock and John and tell them more about the case. You didn't notice immediately, you were to busy paying attention to the commotion, you couldn't help it. John signals you over to them as they walked towards the car park behind the building. As you got there Greg handed you and John two decontamination suits, knowing full well Sherlock wouldn't wear one.
The four of us walked into the car park to be face with two dead bodies surrounded with cops. Sherlock made a B-line for the two dead men on the concrete and knelt down before them. You made your way over to Sherlock to see what deductions he had made.
"Double homicide?" John asked
"No," you and Sherlock replied in unison.
"What do you mean no?!" Greg exclaimed
"It's clearly a murder-suicide," you replied looking down Sherlock and the dead bodies. You crouched down next to Sherlock and held out you hand to take his magnifying glass, "May I?" you asked. Sherlock looked sceptical but reluctantly gave it to you.
"Have a go," he said in a slightly condescending tone. You took the magnifying glass and moved around to the other side of the first body. Carefully, you leaned in closer the man's face inspecting every detail. You spent some time looking at his clothes, making deductions.
Moments later you find everyone staring at you in anticipation; Greg, John, one of the forensic scientists with dark brown hair and a grey-ish beard, a female detective with tanned skin and dark curly hair and even Sherlock was somewhat in anticipation. You stood up, slightly nervous and cleared your throat, "Well, the men, both of their mid-20's, one married unhappily and the other having an affair with the wife. They are both clearly related, and intoxicated. I assume that the one man discovered that his brother was sleeping with his wife while they were both drinking in their flat, they started fighting, ran out to the parking lot, the married brother stabbed the other in his drunken state then realised what he had done so he used the same knife to stab his own neck and let himself bleed out, obviously full of guilt after killing his once close brother."
Everyone stood there, speechless. "What?" you asked with a small smirk. Even Sherlock looked shocked, you could tell that Sherlock wasn't shocked often.
"I was going to say that," Sherlock blushed as he looked at his shoes in embarrassment.
"Oh my God, there's another one," Greg mumbled to himself followed by a breathy laugh. John just hummed in response.
Later on Sherlock went over evidence with Greg and a couple of other detectives and general officers. He had been awfully tense since you had deduced everything about those two bodies. It bugged you, you couldn't help but think about it. He seemed a little bit jealous, jealous that he didn't deduce them before you.
The cab ride home was quite awkward, John tried to make conversation but his attempts failed. Sherlock was silent, thinking and you didn't really know what to say. You turned to look at Sherlock, he looked serene and calm. You didn't really know why John called him such a colossal arse, he definitely didn't seem that bad so far.
