"Gram's I'm ready" I said hopping down the stairs and into Gram's room.
"Alright gray. Calm down okay. It takes me a bit to get ready. I'm old now" Gram's said. Her voice getting more hoarse and frail as the days go on. It's starting to worry me but she always says she's fine when I ask.
"So sunshine when would you like to go?" Gram's asked me as we started to make our way to downtown.
"The park? It's such a pretty day." I told her as I looked up at the sky, a smile on my face. The day seems so perfect and peaceful , the sun was shining brightly kiss running around playing, it's just Gram'a and I. I wouldn't trade this for the world.
"Alright sweetie sounds good. But this old woman here will need to sit as soon as we get there" she said her words becoming sparse as she try's to catch her breath.
As soon as we arrived at the park and found a bench I could tell something was off with gram's. She wasn't breathing right she couldn't catch her breath.
"Deep breaths. I will be right back there is a guy selling water" I told her and headed towards the park vendor and bought Gram's and I a bottle of water. I quickly made my way back to her, never keeping my eyes off her for too long.
"Here try this." I told her and handed her the bottle of water. She took a few sips and soon she seemed to be turning back to normal. I think the walks are killing her. I'm always in a hurry to get places and grams can't take it anymore.
"We will take it slower gram's okay." I told her as she smiled at me lovingly.
"What?" I asked giggling.
"You are just so beautiful. Go get some flowers my dear and come back. Let me get a picture of you. I want to be able to remember this forever. She said as she took my phone from the park bench. I grabbed a few flowers and stood in front of her letting her capture the picture.
