She looks down at the paper and takes note of the directions. She begins walking to the hotel. She sips her coffee and admires the beautiful buildings around her. Finally she arrives, and enters. It's a very fancy hotel, might she add. There's men in tuxedos, women in fancy clothing, and calm music playing.
She begins to walk over to the counter, but she notices somebody looking at her. She glances to her right, only to see the last thing she wanted to see. It's Mike.
And he's with another woman.
Not caring about his surroundings, he begins yelling at her, and walking towards her.
"You son of a BITCH!!" He shouts.
Beth immediately turns around and runs out of the hotel. She runs. And runs. And runs. She can feel her cheeks getting hot, her throat closing, and her eyes watering. What happened earlier in the day is all coming back to her. Her cuts from the glass on her arms and legs begin to start burning.
She remembers the look in his eyes. The look. The evil look. The endless black holes in his eyes that looked right through her. She feels the tears falling off her cheeks. She doesnt know where to go, so she keeps running. Hoping to never see that man ever again. Finally, she comes to a forest. The white snow resting on the trees begins to calm her down. She walks over to a bench, and sits down. Although tears are still falling, she feels calm. She looks to the left and sees a beautiful bridge resting above a river. The water is still running despite the cold weather. She decides to go over to it and admire the view.
While walking, she notices a man standing at the middle of the bridge. He's a tall, skinny man with dark brown hair. He's wearing a black jacket, with black pants, and black boots. He seems to be looking over it. She doesnt pay much attention to him, and looks at the view for herself. But she notices; he's softly crying. She keeps her distance, but looks over at him. He begins to put a foot on the ledge. Beth immediately notices whats going on.
"No!" She yells. The man keeps going and doesnt hear her.
She finally catches up and grabs his arm, pulling him back. He gasps and falls back into the ground, and begins crying even more.
"How could you do that?" He mumbles while crying. He has a strong english accent. He looks young, around his early to mid 20's.
"Please, calm down. Breathe. Breathe slowly, its okay. I've got you." Beth whispers to him. She's sitting beside him with her arm rubbing his back.
He's sitting on his knees, his face in his hands.
He starts calming down. He puts his hands down and looks back up. He doesnt look at Beth yet; he's too embarrassed.
"How do you feel?" She asks."I don't know. I just..." He paused.
"Im sorry."
"Don't be sorry. It's okay. You're safe now. Do you think you could try standing up?" She says in a calm voice. He looked very familiar. Almost as if she'd known him from somewhere.
"Yeah I- I guess." He says. Beth pulls him up slowly until they're both standing up. She takes a look at the man.
"Could you tell me your name please?"
The man exhales deeply, then looks at Beth.
"I'm George."
