I turn and look at my phone in horror with wide eyes. I slowly walk over to my phone. I pick it up and answer it but deny the video, not looking to see who's calling me.
“H-hello?” i ask, my voice shaky.
“Awww. What's wrong baby sis? Not excited to talk to your big brother? C'mon! Tell me, how was the trip to Seoul? How are you liking the room? Hmn? Westin Chosun Busan? Room 208?”
All of the color drains out of my face, “How? How did you--?”
“How did i know?” Bryan cuts me off. “Really? Think about it. I was already with Keilani for a year and a half before Sara got pregnant.” Bryan says.
My blood runs cold and i freeze. “So Sara…” i trail off.
Bryan laughs, “Yup. Sara is in on this! Keilani hates Sara because she knows i still sleep with her. It's all part of a plan. Sara needed to gain your trust and be your savior. So she snuck you things, didn't she? She whisked you away from your abusive family and ran away with you to South Korea only to crush you with the knowledge that it was all a lie. Sara doesn't like you or even feel pity for you. This is all just a game for her and she has always wanted to visit Seoul. So for her, this is just a win-win.”
I tear up and say in a wavering voice, “So all.. All of this was just a ploy? For what?!”
“To break you even more. To watch you get your hopes up just to have them shatter right before your eyes. It's weird how Sara's mom gave her $3,000 to leave Vincent alone, right? It's weird how Sara didn't worry about leaving her car at the airport? And how she had space for your stuff in her suitcase? It all makes sense now, doesn't it,” Bryan taunts me.
Tears start falling down my cheeks and i struggle to stifle my sobs.
“Who knows? I was hoping that after you get back after not enjoying your little trip, i would give you a nice warm welcome. But maybe a drunk over in Korea will off you so i don't have to see your ugly face again,” Bryan says nonchalantly.
My phone slips from my hand and i run out of the hotel.
“Hello? Cry baby? Are you there? Hello?! Ugh, she must've run off. Oh well,” Bryan says to no one before he ends the call.
I run away from the hotel, sobbing. I hurry down the stairs leading from the hotel to the beach. I stop at the bottom and look around. I spot a cluster of rocks off in the corner, tucked against the wall and in between the sand and the water. I go over and sit on them before drawing my legs to my chest and crying into my knees.
Author's Note:::
Heyyy. This is a little excerpt from a story I'm writing. I'll post a summary soon, I just wanted to post a little taste now.
Fair warning, I do write my stories in first person. I like to put myself in the shoes of the main character and write the story as the character would experience it. I do occasionally switch to third person for more details in the story or background knowledge. Also, I'm very detailed when it comes to my stories. Like, full on time charts and actual places with accurate distances. Sorry if it bothers you, it just makes it easier for me to picture the story as i write it. Let me know if there's any typos or things that need changing!
Anyways, I hope you like it! I'll be posting the summary and prologue fairly soon, but don't hold me to it. *sweat drops and laughs nervously*
Byeeee!
