Chapter 18: Remembering the Past

So sorry for the long wait everyone!!! Please so forgive me for my absence when we are nearing the end of this book, I'm glad some of you guys really like this story, it makes me feel really proud of myself and my writing. (Aoba's POV)

The first thing that I as when I woke up was Mink's stern look. "Hey Mink." I said.

My head hurts...

"You gonna lie there all night, Seragaki?" he said.

I sat up, my joints stiff from not moving in a while.

"So are you planning to die?" I asked.

He was silent for a little bit, until he finally broke it. "I knew it from the first time I saw you. You and me, both have the same scent." he said.

Same scent? What does that mean?

"It's the scent of death." he said.

That caught me off guard. He just huffed and turned and walked away.

I stood up, and called out to him. "Hey Mink, don't die. Just live." I said, with a serous tone in my voice.

He continued walking. "Your alive. Cherish it!" I said. He just continued walking. I just sighed and followed after him.

He then stopped and turned to me. "You need to stay here." he said. A serious tone in his voice.

That surprised me. "But why!?" I argued. "I changed my mind. You just stay here." he said.

I can't...

"No way! I'm coming, you need me in there!" I argued. "Do what you want." he said. And started walking again.

(Sei's POV)

They took me back to my room, I struggled but ended up back in my chair. My heart feeling warm and slow.

Mr. Tagahashi left with a bow.

After I heard the door close, I looked up from the ground.

I closed my eyes and thought in my head.

'Nii-san, please..save me and (Y/n)... We need you...'

(Aoba's POV)

Even after Mink told me to stay behind, I still had to go with him. We had to take the hundreds of stairs to avoid less ssecurity.

As we walked up the stairs with Ren popping his head out of my bag, I noticed something wrong with his eye.

Some sort of pixel is floating around the outside of his right eye.

"Ren. What's going on? There's something weird with your eye." I said. I heard him sigh. I reached out to him but he turned his head away.

"Come on Ren, let me look." I said, sounding as if I'm ordering a child. He sighed again, but didn't turn his head.

"Hey! Come on and turn your head around!" I ordered. He still didn't but said something that I didn't really understand but it kinda surprised me.

"You really need to concern yourself of more important things, Aoba." he said.

What's going on with him?

"What the hell are you talking about?" I asked. "How many times have I told you how much trouble I'd be in without you!?"  I asked.
