"Still doesn't really like me, huh?" Mark frowns, resigned, leaning against the back of Jack's chair.
"He's still embarrassed about the way it all played out," Jack explains quietly, saving his work with a few clicks of his mouse.
"That was four years ago," Mark grumbles. "Honesty, none of us left that room smelling like roses."
"He and Ken still haven't talked since that night, you know," Jack reminds him, glancing up to his tired eyed boyfriend. "He hasn't gotten his closure, Mark. He's trying, but hell, it really hurt him. Just, don't be mad at him, okay? He's still my best friend."
"I know, babe," Mark sighs, offering his hand to his boyfriend. "I just wish it was different, ya know? I just want it to feel normal again."
Jack takes Mark's hand, allowing himself to be lead from his office. The small sway of Jack's curvy hips-cover only by boxers- has Mark's attention immediately, the nights of his absence returning to the raven. Flicking the lights off on the way out of the office, Mark steps through the dark, warm hand wrapped around his boyfriend's slender one. He finds the bedroom by memory, falling into the bed by a gut feeling.
Mark gently pulls them both down onto the bed, wrapping his arms around his lover's slender frame. Jack nestles into Mark's chest, breathing deeply to surround himself with the familiar, comforting scent. Almost out of instinct, the raven brushes his fingers through the soft brunette hair, earning a purr from his lover.
Normally, Mark would be sound asleep by the time Jack joins him, cuddling loving into his back. Despite the years they have spent together, they still cannot synchronize their sleep schedules. Mark is an early bird, in bed by midnight and up before eight. Jack is a night owl, awake into the night and sleeping until noon. Regardless, during nights like this, Mark can always convince Jack to crawl into bed with him.
"You know," Jack starts, slow and voice soft. "It won't have really feel the same without him. I'm really glad he's going to be there, Moomoo. I... I really missed him. I wish he could stay longer. I wonder if he'll stay for our anniversary party."
"If it will make him stay, I'll apologize for what happened," Mark offers, pressing a soft kiss to the Irishman's temple. "He may be a pain in the ass, but he's your best friend, and I want him there for you."
"He's such a pain," the Irishman agrees, placing a kiss on Mark's chest, shirt not feeling nearly as good as bare skin on his lips. "And, I know he'll be there for us if we just pull him back into our lives."
Mark hums, his hands drifting down to grab handfuls of Jack's plump bottom. "If you're happy, then I'm happy, babe."
Jack gives a small gasp before smiling softly. "So this is why you wanted me to come to bed? Bet you missed my ass more than you missed me."
"Wasn't on my mind until I saw your pretty hips in those boxers," Mark purrs.
"I guess I owe you," Jack chuckles. "Thanks for letting Felix come."
Mark lets his hands drift away from Jack's ass, shaking his head as best he can. "You don't owe me anything, Roo. Your happiness is reward enough, okay?"
"Okay," he nods, but his hands are starting to wander. His fingers slide beneath Mark's shirt, gently grazing across the raven's firm belly.
"I missed you, Mark," Jack hums, fingers sliding past the waistband of his boyfriend's boxers.
The raven groans, a hand sliding under Jack's shirt and another beneath his boxers to grab at his ass. Jack starts stroking slowly, purring softly as Mark's fingers trace his skin.
