John's POV

My jaw drops, shocked, it was the girl I ran into! My wish came true, this seemed like a dream. "H-hi, I'm (Y-Y/n)." She said shyly, with a hint of embarrassment in her tone. "John Egbert," I replied sticking my hand out for a handshake, which she shook with her soft hands. Rose then interrupted with, "Anyways, let's get started! You guys can warm up before and look over the difficult parts before playing through it together." We both nodded, I warmed up on the elegant, black piano while she opened her case. She took out a beautiful, polished, wooden violin and put the shoulder rest on. She then applied golden rosin onto the hair of the bow. She puts the violin up between her left shoulder and her chin. "S-sorry to bother your warm up, i-it's really lovely, b-but can you play a-a middle A for tuning?" She stuttered nervously. I did what she asked, she then started tuning the strings. Once she was set to go, we start warming up. I recognize the piece she was warming up with, it was Schön Rosemarin, it was beautiful, absolutely breathtaking.

Reader's POV

Throughout my whole life, have I never heard the piece John was playing. It was gorgeous! How come I never came across a piece like this?! I stopped warming up, him following to a stop. Rose walks in between, "I'm assuming we are ready with Love's Sorrow?" "I think so," we both said in unison, making us blush a little. "Okay, let's start," she said enthusiastically . John put his hands on the piano, and I set my bow onto the strings of the violin, we looked at each other eyes to see when to start. Then we started to play. It was a sweet melody, like a waltz, but the name doesn't lie, it did bring me sorrow. My mother passed away when I was younger, and this was her favorite piece of music, it always reminded me of her. Though, I rather not tell anyone. I don't like to tell people my problems, I rather solve theirs' than mine. But I still poured out all of my emotions into this piece, putting my heart and soul into it. I play it as if my life depended on it, and I will play this piece as if mother is watching from above!

John's POV

Holy crap! Her playing took my breath (a/n: see what I did there) away! It was filled with passion and emotions, it was like it was telling a story. I could basically paint a picture in my mind. I tried to put my emotions into it, but I was too much in a positive mood. Then I started to wonder, 'she also seemed to be in a positive mood when she came in, so where was she drawing the sadness from? Who or what is the source of the emotions she plays? Who is she playing this piece for?' She draws a lot of emotions for it to be "just natural". Things with such emotions always have a story behind it. I seemed to be concentrated heavily on the topic, I didn't realize that we had finished the piece! Rose applauded and smiles gently, "That was truly lovely!" She exclaimed. (Y/n) brings down her instrument and asked, "Is there anything you would like to fix?" Oh crap! I was too lost in thought to focus on that part!! "Uhhh.... I didn't find anything wrong, I thought you sounded stunning!" I responded. Phew... that was close. "Oh...Uhh... thank you... you did as well.." she said shy and a little flustered.
"Thanks! Is there anything you want to fix?"
"Well.... I think on measure 55, we could slow down a little bit more."
"Okay..." I noted her comment on my music, "Noted! Anything else?" Soon we were talking on how to improve the duet song. Rose seemed to be interested but left to give us privacy to think and talk. Soon we concluded our tips for Love's Sorrow. Eventually, the lesson ended, of course there was tiny things to work on but that was for next week. "Say, (Y/n), how would you like to sit with me and John at lunch. We can introduce our friends to you." Rose suggested. I nodded in agreement, she then replies with an "ok," and "sure,".
