Chapter 02.

I put my books in my locker and turn to see my sister and Her friends coming my way.

Crap

I hurry and shut it trying to walk the opposite direction before they noticed me, but I wasn't fast enough.

"Hey! Dork Alert!" One of them shouts. Great.

"Hey (Y/N), come over here for a second" Jessa says with a evil grin forming on her lips. I stood there silently until My sister motioned me to come closer so I walked up.

Slowly. Jessa grabbed my arm and pulled me into a corner which caught me by surprise.

"So I heard you were coming with us to the concert tomorrow" she says knitting her eyebrows.

"Yeah... I didn't want to though-" I say but she knocks my books out of my hands.

"Uh yeah good. So you won't have an issue being out of the way right? I'm pretty sure if you were in the picture Luke wouldn't dare to look our direction." She snaps flipping her hair.

"Come on girls!" She says over her shoulder and her snotty friends follow behind her. I sigh and bend down picking up my books and a boy leans down and helps me. I look up at him and he's pretty cute... Too cute tbh.

"Hey are you alright?" He says handing me my books and I nod nervously trying not to make eye contact.

"They are jerks, don't worry about them" he says as we both stand up.

"Yeah.. I'm kind of used to it" I say looking down at the ground.

"Well you shouldn't be" he says with concern in his eyes and I nod and look away.

"Well I should introduce myself, I'm Carter" he says holding out his hand. I look at it nervously before shaking it and pull my hand back fast.

"I'm (Y/N)" I say shyly.

"Wanna sit with me at lunch?" He asks with a smile. What? Me? Why me? I feel my cheeks start burning.

"Uhm sure" I say softly and he smiles.

"Great! See you soon then" he says before walking off.

Biology seemed like it took 10 years for it to end but finally the bell rung. I shoved my books into my backpack and headed to the lunchroom. My day was finally getting better.

*Lunch time*

I get in line and grab my tray when I see Carter waving at me from one of the tables. I blush and start walking towards him, sitting down in front of him as I set my tray on the table.

"Hey (Y/N)" he says smiling.

"Hey.." I say trying to calm my nerves, I have no idea why I'm so nervous. Wait, yeah bc I'm sitting with a really attractive GUY. Does he know I'm not popular? Is he new? OMG I'm freakin out right now.

"Hey Carter!" I hear someone shout behind me. Oh Gosh... It's Jess. He turns and looks at her.

"Why are you sitting with Mrs. Ugly when you can be sitting with us?" She asks with a smirk.

"I'll pass.." He says with a chuckle. Did he really just turn down the cheerleaders for me? I think I'm red.

"So you rather be an embarrassment than sit with us?" She snaps.

He sighs getting up from the table with his tray and I feel my heart sink a bit. I knew it was too good to be true.

"Good choice" she says with a wink and smiles back at me. I glare at her then realize what Carter is doing.

"Oops" he says dumping his noodles all over her light blue floral top.

"Oh my GOD" she screams looking down at her shirt. I bust out laughing and Carter covers his mouth trying to hold back his as he looks at me.
