I've have never saw somebody I love. Not even my family. I didn't feel the need to have love. All I knew was to survive. To survive from the world that I live in. Most people say that there are positive things in the negative. I disagree with them. I say that if it's negative it's negative. I don't believe in positivity. That is until I met him. I had learned what his name was. It was Cole. It sounded like it was just a perfect name for a bad boy like him. Cole. I kept saying that name in my head.
I saw him again. I saw him by my locker as I was getting out of class. I froze. I just stared at him. What was he doing by my locker. In that moment I had walked up to him.
"What are you doing by my locker boy."
"Oh you see I think I would have fun. I think I should just do this to your locker."
In that moment he took out his car keys and made a scratch into my locker.
"What the hell is your problem."
I punched him. I didn't hold back. I was furious. Who does he think he is.
"It's Elena isn't it. Well I can tell you that you god pretty good punch.
"Look I ain't here for compliments. Why are you here. Why did you do that to my locker."
"Well let's just say I like making a pretty girl mad."
After he said that he walked away. Like he always does. Walk away. I on the other hand just froze. I froze till I got pushed back into reality. For the rest of the day I had went to all my classes.
Tonight. It was different than any other night. I heard police cars. They parked in front of my house. That was when I took my emergency bag and ran. I ran as if my life depended on it. I was scared. I was scared that my past is coming back. Suddenly I felt a pair of hand grabbed my in a alley way where it was dark. It was Cole.
"What is yo—"
He put one hand over my mouth and the other over his lips signaling that I should shut up. We stayed in that position until the cops passed by. Finally Cole put his hands down.
"Now do you care to tell me why you were running away from the police."
I felt the urge of crying. But I didn't.
"Why would you care. You obviously don't care about me and my locker now do you."
"Your right. I don't care about you, but what I wanna know is that why were you running from the cops."
I looked at him. Why does he wanna know so badly. That's when I made my mistake and told him.
"They are after me because I ran away from my foster home.
"Wow. Didn't know someone like you had it in ya."
"Yea we'll know you know. My turn. Why did you made a scratch on my locker."
"Heh. Well you see that I was just trying to get attention from you. You make me laugh Elena and it's nice hanging around you"
I froze. Did he just say he like to have me around? In that moment I felt the urge of hugging him.
"Well thanks. Well imma head somewhere other than home cause the cops obviously know where I live."
"Elena. Don't t be stupid. I'm not gonna let you sleep in the streets. Come on."
"Where are we going."
"My house."
"Why."
"Because that's where my stuff is."
"Obviously."
So we went to his house. He slept on the couch while I slept in his bed. I had no problem with that. I didn't even argue. The whole day had been crazy. First Cole scratched my locker and then he saved me. Crazy? Again no. Coincidence? Again yes. I thought about my brother and sister. It had been years since I saw them. I didn't want to see my sister. I wanted I see my brother. He had always kept me company. That is until he had went to rehab.
I had finally decided to choose my last name. I didn't want it to be my dads because people would track me down. My name is Elena Johnson and this is my life.
