John groans at the sound of his alarm blaring in his ears. Today is his first day of college and he is not at all excited, despite his love for social interaction. He'd prefer to sleep in and hang out with his friends, but they've all chosen to stay in their hometown Missouri, while he seeked new experiences. John raises up and runs a hand through his messy, whitish-blonde hair before throwing his feet off the edge of the bed and standing up, wobbling a little. He sluggishly walks over to his closet and grabs a random outfit, tossing it on his bed. Too lazy to take a shower this morning, he strips out of his pajamas and puts on his clothes, his shirt that he's owned for several years hugging his torso tightly. "I'm gonna have to go shopping sometime soon..." He thinks to himself before grabbing his hair brush so he could attempt to tame his unruly hair. John then fumbles through his jewelry and grabs a handful of his favorite rings, placing each of them on his fingers until they all had at least 2 rings on each of them.
He almost enjoys his ring collection as much as his carreer path. Almost. John plans to study in journalism so he can be a reporter. He wants to be able to commentate on super heroes and super villains as they battle it out on the streets from a distance. He enjoys the adrenaline rush he gets when he's near the action. John has always hated being in the middle of a fight let alone a full blown battle, which is why he's kept his abilities a secret... The government forces people like John into the police force to fight off villains and people that the police can't handle on their own. Super humans aren't allowed to have normal lives, so he just pretends to be a regular, harmless human.
John looks down at his red nails, debating on whether or not he should repaint them, but he decides against it seeing as though he needs to get to class. He grabs his backpack stuffed to the brim with books and walks into the kitchen and fixes himself a cup of coffee. He almost makes another cup for his roommate, Eli, but remembers that he doesn't have class for another hour or so. As a kind gesture, John leaves out all of the ingredients so Eli can easily access them.
He then places a lid on his cup and hurries out the dorm room so he could be one of the first to pick their seats. When he arrives, he notices a few other students that had the same idea as he had, but they seemingly managed to beat him to it. Seeing as though there was still plenty of seats, he picks one relatively close to the board so he could hear the teacher clearly and as time passes, more and more students begin to fill the room and before John knows it the remaining seats are filled and the teacher begins her lesson.

Time flies by fairly quickly and in the blink of an eye, John's school day is over and he has the rest of the day to do as he pleases. Part of him wanted to meet up with some of his new friends he's made throughout the day, but his love for reading overpowers him so he decides to head to the school's library. It wasn't that long of a walk, but he was still pretty tired when he arrives from his lack of exercise and rest.
John pushes open the large, glass doors and takes in his new surroundings. All of the walls were hidden behind book shelves filled with novels of every genre. The rest of the room consisted of a bunch of tables, chairs, and the occasional stack of books that couldn't fit on the shelves. John then notices a man glaring at him out of the corner of his eyes. He turns his head to face him, but the man John assumes to be the librarian quickly looks away as if nothing happened. He shrugs it off before heading over to the fiction section and browsing through the various books. John settles on one and takes it off of the shelf, pleased with his decision he walks over to the librarian's desk and places it in front of the man.
John takes a moment to study him, curious as to why he'd be working here seeing as though he looks to be around his age. The man is slightly shorter than him and has dark brown hair with a couple of white highlights here and there. His face seems quite attractive, even though it's contorted into a displeased and unamused expression. His brown eyes seem very dark and dull, even with the light of the room reflecting off of them. He gave off this unsettling 'Please just leave me alone' vibe which is completely understandable since today is Monday, but something tells John that the librarian is like this most of the time.
He notices a name tag pinned to the man's shirt and reads it out loud, "Lucas. That's a nice name." Lucas remains silent, grabbing the book off of his desk and checking it out so John would leave. "My name is John by the way... I thought I'd introduce myself since I'll be spending a lot of time here." He explains, his social tendencies beginning to show. Lucas ignores John and slides him the book, sitting down in his chair and pulling out his cell phone. Taken aback by the rudeness, John crosses his arms grumpily. "Nice to meet you, John, I look forward to seeing you again." John mumbles sarcastically to replace the silent treatment he was receiving. Lucas looks up from his phone to glare at John once again, silencing him. "S-Sorry." John mutters before walking over to one of the tables so he could read his new book, ignoring the eyes that were drilling holes into the back of his head.
