Past Meets Present

She

Caroline was a vampire. Damon's blood changed her. These thoughts were circling my mind and I couldn't sleep. Damon looked like he knows something, but he won't tell me, I couldn't blame him. I have hurt him. So, that leaves me the other Salvatore.

"Can we meet? It's urgent?" I texted him in the morning.

"Can't, watching over Caroline." He replied almost instantly.

"It's about Caroline, Stefan. Are you at the Boarding House? I am coming over"

"Don't. It could be dangerous." 

That can't stop me from having my answers. I knocked at the Salvatore Boarding House after a few minutes. I exhaled a breath of relief when Stefan opened the door.

"I told you, it's dangerous in here." He hissed at me.

"It's important Stefan. Caroline's a vampire. I have to know everything."

"Yeah, well now is not the time."

Just at that moment Caroline came up behind Stefan, the veins of her face were popping out, her eyes bloody and fangs appearing. She slowly hissed at me. Stefan was securing her instantly, blocking her path to attack me.

"She's a friend, Caroline. Resist it. I know you can do it." Stefan tried to calm her down.

"Go, Bella. I will tell you everything later. Right now, just go." He told me and seeing the seriousness in his eyes and Caroline's hostility, I figured it was best for me to leave. So, I drove to Mystic Falls High School, having missed a lot of classes I thought of making up for them while Stefan helps Caroline. I had English at this hour and was heading to my classroom when I saw Alaric, Elena and Damon heading to an abandoned classroom. I followed them. Who can possibly care about attendance when there's a life-or-death situation on hand.

"Hey, can I join you guys? Looks like you need a witch's hand." I joined them in the classroom. Surprisingly enough - no one said a word, not even Damon. They looked at each other and then at me. Weird.

"What's going on? Is everything alright?" I asked Elena.

"Why don't you go and take care of your own problems and leave us on our own." Damon shouted angrily at me. "No, you can't do that because you... you love to get in between everything. It's not your business, Bella. Get the hell out." 

"Damon, don't talk to her like that." Alaric intervened but at that point tears were already pouring out of my eyes. Elena was at my side, hugging me but I pushed her away and ran.

The last thing I heard was Elena speaking to Damon in a very bitter and sarcastic tone, "Congratulations Damon, you just reached a whole new level of assholeness." 

I wanted to be alone. I guess that would be best for me. At least I won't be beating myself up. I just wanted to help them. My intention was to help them not to get noisy. I barely noticed where I was going and by the time my brain started to function again, I was too deep in the forest and had absolutely no clue how to get out of there.

"Hello there, are you lost?" someone whispered in my ear. I was creeped out of my senses and jerked forward which caused me to fall.

"Oh my, forgive me. I didn't mean to startle you." That voice spoke in a friendly and apologetic manner. I looked up to see a man wearing a black hoodie, unlike his voice, his posture was stern. 

"After all you are my guest for the time being." He continued. What? I got up and dusted myself. He wasn't a vampire, I could tell.

"I think you are mistaken. I don't even know you."

"You are absolutely right, you don't know me but she knows you and she wants me to get you to her." 

"And who might she be?" My head hurt as I got hit by something hard as I turned I could just make out another figure holding a rod. "You will know soon enough." I heard her say before the world goes black.

A/N:

Long wait for this one. Hope I made it worth the wait. Twist in the plot. Who is she? What could she possibly want from Bella. And why is Damon suddenly being rude to Bella. Is it really because of the kiss she shared with Edward or there's something else going on? Stay tuned to figure it out.
