Chapter 3

A few days later, we wake to hearing Draco's mother calling for breakfast. "Evelyn darling, are you ready for school?" Draco's mom asked, looking at me. "Yes auntie. I'm very excited!!" I respond happily. Draco gives me a sideways look from down the table, but I just brush it off. I start to space out while dad talks to Draco's parents. After we finish eating, Draco and I go outside to play. "We'll be heading to Hogwarts tomorrow, lyn. Are you excited?" Draco asks, looking at me. "A little. But at least we'll have each other." I say, smiling at him. "Of course we will." He replied haughtily. "Promise me you wont forget me if i'm not in Slytherin?" I ask, quietly. He stops and looks at me, his face softening, "I'd never forget you lyn." he says, pulling me into a hug. "Thank you co.." I finally say, pulling away. We spent the rest of the day talking about what we thought Hogwarts would be like. "I heard there are a lot of ghosts in the school!!" Draco said excitedly, "I wonder what they'll be like." "That's so cool!! I cant wait to see them." I say. A few hours later Draco's mother came out telling him that it was time to leave. "See you at the station tomorrow lyn." Draco said while hugging me. "See you tomorrow co." I said, hugging him back. After they left dad called me in for dinner. "Have you packed all your robes and books?" He asked when I sat at the table. "yes father, I've got everything packed." I say.

"hey dad..." I ask after a few minutes of silence. "Yes, Evelyn?" He says, looking up at me. "what if... i'm not put in Slytherin?" I ask, looking down. "What do you mean?" He asks, fully looking at me. "I mean, you're a Slytherin, my parents were Gryffindor. what if i'm not put in Slytherin?" I rush out, starting to tear up. "Evelyn.." He starts off softly, "Your mother was a Gryffindor, and I loved her. And I will love you too, even if you are not put in Slytherin. That will not change the fact, you are my daughter." "I love you dad." I say, running to him and hugging him. "you too Evelyn. Now finish eating and get ready for bed." He says, hugging me back. After dinner I ran up to my room and finished getting my stuff together and got in bed. Pandora climbed up and laid next to me, falling asleep shortly before me. "I guess you're ready for tomorrow too?" I ask her before falling asleep myself.
