|Let's Start|

~Narrators Pov~

The e/c eyes followed the blonde man with unseen admiration, they didn't talk anymore, as the blonde male had all but forgotten about m/n. The c/n male with messy h/c locks that just came over the tips of his ears and curled slightly as to tickle the ears of the man.

They both hadn't talked properly in years, they knew each other for near all their lives up until they were around eleven, Ludwig had moved house with his family and they ended up living closer to the city, of course m/n would try to the best of his ability to track down where exactly Ludwig lived, just to be able to talk to him again, this carried on for around a year and a half, once the c/n found out exactly where he lived, or more so where his estate was he set off to find him. When he got to the estate Ludwig lived on he saw his long lost best friend with a group of slightly older looking boys, it wasn't surprising as they both needed new friends once he moved but it was just that Ludwig seemed happier with those people than he ever was with him.

He decided that there was no point in trying to make amends to the severed friendship, Ludwig had new friends, now m/n just needed new friends too.

∆Four Years Later∆

M/n hadn't exactly forgotten about Ludwig like Ludwig had forgotten about him, as he didn't make any human friends over the years that Ludwig was gone for, m/n became more and more so distanced. After the tragic death of his mother his father left and went to find new love in the city, leaving m/n alone at the age of 15 in the woods, where his family house had always been. Ludwig's family home was just outside the woods, fairly large in size and well insulated. Where as m/n's family home was cold, definitely cold, during winter months, the crops would refuse to grow and had to be kept in a makeshift green house. After Ludwig's family left the house fell in the l/ns will, they owned the house, and when m/n's family left or died the will fell to him. Then the miraculous plan to live in the Beilschmidt family home during winter arose.

It was late Autumn that m/n received an anonymous phone call asking for the viewing of a house on the outskirts of the forest. He at first refused, but the man on the other end of the phone was persistent. M/n could swear that he knew the voice, that was also part of the reason he let the man come to see the house, he sounded so familiar.

They had scheduled a meeting to be in three days, which gave the c/n male just enough time to move his belongings out of the house, back to his and to patch up anything that looked to be in disrepair.

€Three days Later€

This is how the male got into the situation of the one he was in. Admiring a long lost friend that didn't even remember you.

While they walked to the house in question they both talked scarcely, like it was almost forbidden, the long grass and few trees that were scattered across the valley just outside the beginning of the forest set a scene of nostalgia. The small river that ran down the valley towards the house had ducks swimming in it, they didn't have ducklings this time of year, as they were old enough to fly the nest.

Upon approaching the house the h/c haired man took a final look at Ludwig, wishing, pleading that he would remember. It was killing him, to be stood next to someone you though you knew so well who doesn't even remember your name.

M/n stepped forward, took a deep breath and pushed the door open, the double doors that stood grand and serious in front of the house, they were the same, everything was the same, except the people there. Ludwig had forgotten, Gilbert had been in a coma for little over a year and had just woken up, Folkert (Germania) was dead.

Nothing and everything was the same simultaneously.

Standing in the same room as him was like nothing ever changed, like they were standing in the same hallway that they stood in four and a half years ago, when they didn't care, when everything was fine and when no one was dead or forgotten.

"Ludwig, do you remember anything?"

The blond looked up at him, his eyes scanned the e/c eyed male standing to his right, questioning him.

"Ludwig, do you remember the days when we got lost in the woods, when Gilbert would have to come find us. Do you remember Quin, the ferret? Do you, do you remember us?"

The eyes felt like they were near glaring at him, he was scared to ask anything else. Before he could the German male stopped him, a sigh leaving his lips, he looked tired.

"I remember, I remember m/n, I remember the woods, I remember Quin, and I remember us. Of course I do, did you think I'd forget a dummkopf like you?"

The h/c haired male let out a small chuckle, it was more so of relief, he didn't forget.

"You've always been a mystery Ludwig, always."
